I broke it! Jumping a patio with chairs, fire ring, and the 2x6 border as obstacles. Also launching off a 2' wide wooden thrown together ramp. Shock came loose from the cap and lost the bladder. Was going to tephlon tape it till I got a bladder but ended up kicking the shock cap into the lake.....parts are ordered.

Ran the stock system on 3s and tried to avoid flipping over. As a consequence, I hit my foot at full speed.

New oil in all four shocks after I blew a cap and lost parts. Found you can't overfill with oil or the cap will pop off with little pressure on the shock

car ran away while at the track today. full speed into a wall. remarkably this is really the only damage. only other issue is warped screw holes for the front bumper.

Looks as though you might be in need of a chassis brace. I think a brace may have prevented that damage.

Today i installed a full led light kit in my shell. Then I installed a new RPM bumper and light canister set. Then I wired in 4 LED's that arent included with the RPM KIT. Drilled out the RPM Light canisters for larger 5mm LED's

The 10 LEDs in the body can be turned off an on via a switch in the body, and the light bar is always on, but can be easily unplugged via the wiring harness..

a few new parts for the sl4sh today

with a bunch more on the way.

Today, i went out for my first bash session of the spring! But I forgot to check the bearings... After maybe 10 minutes of real fun, the truck started to sound pretty wierd. I tought it was a rock caught somewhere, but in fact, it was the rear pinion bearing that just exploded, and then, the slipper bearing and the spur bearing wnt on me... So i let you imagine what will i do tonight!!!

    EFFECTS OF DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT
    DIFF OIL THICKNESS CHARACTERISTICS

    Front
    Thinner
    • Increases steering into corners (off-power)
    • If oil is too thin the steering may become inconsistent,
especially it can lose forward traction (and steering) during acceleration out of corners

    Thicker
    • Increases stability into corners during braking
    • Increases steering on-power at corner exit

    Center
    Thinner
    • Front wheels unload more during acceleration
    • Decreases on-power steering (reduces oversteer)
    • Easier to drive on rough tracks
    • If a high-power engine is used you could waste too much power and sometime “cook” the oil in the center differential because it “overloads”
    • More off-power steering

    Thicker
    • More all-wheel drive effect
    • Better acceleration
    • Increases on-power steering (reduces understeer)
    • Better suited on high-bite, smooth tracks
    • Car can be more nervous to drive especially if a high power engine is used - you might need to be smooth on the throttle

    Rear
    Thinner
    • Increases cornering traction
    • Increases steering into corner

    Thicker
    • Decreases rear traction while cornering
    • Reduces wheelspin
    Thanks, good info

Nice wheels and tires. What are they. What's the size of them and will they fit on stock slash 4x4.

Installed the aluminum adaptor on the slipper clutch and put on the sway bar kit for my slash 4x4. Also got the traxxas blue aluminum motor mount which I'll install a little later, lol!, I should a put the motor mount in when I did the aluminum adaptor but forgot and went on to install the sway bars, haha!!, oh well maybe later tonight or tomorrow. I also got a new clear traxxas body and I'm thinking of what color(s) to do, maybe bright green and black but not sure yet. I could use orange and white since I have those colors but we'll see. Heading to hobby shop on Sunday to check out some colors.

Put in my traxxas blue anodized motor mount. Installed easy and looks nice. Charging up 2s lipo and will see how well it works out after a few runs.

Got me a set of black proline wheels and medium compound trencher tires. Tires are a little taller than the stock traxxas ones, about 1/2 inch taller so I hope they work out and fit the slash good. Looks like they may rub the body when jumping or bumpy rough surface. They look really nice though, can't wait to try em out, just waiting for glue to cure before using them

I rebuilt and refilled the front and rear differentials, installed a full set of Proline Powerstrokes, installed the center differential kit, installed a new pinion, and serviced a few bearings that needed attention. Also installed the VXL Esc fan. Very productive day! This is the first time I've actually had her apart and everything went pretty smooth. A LOT easier to work on than my T-maxx lol
