    xo-1 upgrade

    Hello readers; recently i have purchased the xo-1 1717 big block motor and the esc with the capaciter (big thanks to Kitchen. As i have read and been told, the motor mount needs to be cut to make the motor fit, what would be the best way to do this? with a dremel? a drill with the circular blades that cuts holes? i know that the 1717 motor delivers alot of torque, for the e-revo to handle the torque stronger driveshafts are inline- which brings me to my next question; i have a emaxx with steel cvd drivelines, can i switch the drivelines arround from the e revo to the emaxx and the emaxx over to the e revo? also would i have to purchase xo-1 differentials? both front and rear? just rear? or what? what mods would have to be done to hook up the differentials if i have to purchase them? what other mods do i need to do? and i think this is my last question: does anyone know if any company happens to sell any dodge bodies that are aero dynamic?

    specs: it is a stock kawasaki e-revo except for alloy front lower a-arms, alloy rear skid plate, summit tires (planning on picking up a sent of either 2.8 trenchers or 3.8 trenchers for every day use, and a set of foams for high speed runs) and a alloy wheely bar

    what will it be used for: the average day basher, and possibly to race some 1:1 scale cars at mopars on the strip.

    feel free to ask questions, leave feedback, or creative critisism

    As always;
    Thanks for your time, Kenny.

    i didn't get too much information out of that thread, only thing i got out of that was the alloy slipper clutch- as that was the only thing that was said to have worked, everything else was what he was going to do, and as of right now there is no other feed back on anything else that has worked

    i have done this too. You need to dill out one of the holes in the motor mount for an m4 screw as opposed to a m3. you also will need to shave down some of the rear shock mount to make it fit. you could also buy the kershaw designs mount for the 1717 if you want it to sit higher and not do any extra work.

    For the esc http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...-esc-installed

    I'm not to sure about them, thinking they are a little thin and might not hold up. I would spend the extra money and go with the mip ones

    a couple of thoughts for you one i would really look in to the lst diffs because the stock ones are not going to hold at all ,mod 1 gearing like the xo-1 uses and a different ecs and the reason is i think you going to need more voltage to get you to the speed that you desire . one last thing why would you tell a very helpful person that is very knoledgeable in these trucks to get a life just my .02

    i have done some research, and i was looking into trying to mod the rearend to fit a xo-1 differential, looking at doing the losi differential mod; but then i came across these differentials on the bay of e- and i have often heard that gorillamaxx made some of the best parts available.

    yes, the thing with 87gn. Looking back at his comment, it has been editted, not just the link- could of sworn he said something else that was fairly insulting, someone else pitched in saying that he has done similiar actions on other threads (which i have seen one here and there, but heck it was something like "what upgrades should i get for my summit" (refferring to the comment of "same thread different truck"), and that of which i can understand, i mean there are countless threads that practicly ask the same question word for word. But i think there are a handful of the xo-1 motor and esc mod done to an e-revo.... either way i did greatly appreciate the links he commented with, i would prefer this not turn into a(n) argument; rather than a guide for others to use if they possibly do an xo-1 mod as well.

    4sdash- i purchased two 11.1 volt 5000mah batterries (i think it is possible you may not of seen that part), either way these are the batterries i have to work with

    no i didnt see the battery part im just thinking how they geared the xo-1 for 100 , now you have a taller tire but your also dealing with a third party with the trans reduction ,not saying this cant be done just trying to help you cover all the basics so you dont have a disoppointment over a small detail hope you understand

    For sevral months this will be a basher, hopefully in the future i will be able to purchase a good set of foams for high speed runs. As i have it in the basher phase, i will baby into speed. As for the transmission, what upgrades would you recommend? i was going to try to have a friend of mine machine out some alloy pads for the slipper, and purchase the gen 3 slipper kit from robbinson racing.
