would a slayer transmission hold up in a revo?

With an os .21tm or a picco .26? What would it take to make it hold up?

its the same tranny. Only difference is the ratio....2 gears inside the transmission to compensate for the tire size.

Pull up the exploded views of both transmissions and get the gear for the revo...I converted my revo to a slayer and used the same transmission, just switched the 2 gears and changed the ratio

Instead of changing the gears inside couldn't one just change the spur gear to compensate?

OK. Thanks. EBay has slayer pro transmissions cheaper than revo transmissions. Plan on ordering one. I'll order a set of wide ratio gears too.

revo 3.3 have 28t/28t drive gear while the slayer have 33t/23t due to smaller tires. using slayer final gears with a 3.3 engine will never get you to wheelie from standing still.
here are the gear differences, left are my RR metal gears but with the same tooth counts as revo tranny 28t/28t, right are the stock slayer 33t/23t.

if you gonna put a slayer tranny in your revo put close ratio and 14/40.... or else you will be burning up clutches due to slip.. not speculating.. been there done that years ago..and you will find that your first gear will strip faster/ easier because it will be staying in first gear allot longer.. and the small primary gear will get hot and disintegrate.. so get the robinson racing primary/ input gear if you going to this conversion...

Well then I'll use the close ratio gears out of my 2.5 tranission.

unless you put it in there.. the 2.5 stock is standard ratio...

ok...i had a post called clutch bell heat that after reading this i believe this is my whole problem. My revo is actualy a converted slayer so the heat im experiencing is from the gearing. From what I can see the 5394x foward only kit for the revo would give me the 2 gears i need to fix this problem...does that sound correct?

i believe the platinum revo come close ratio, correct me if im wrong, i dont own one lol. i only have the platinum body the rest was build from scratch.
