has anyone tried the RB innovations high performance air filter?? looks like a small k&n cold air intake filter...

Just stick with one that has been proven to work: Traxxas dual stage or Motorsaver. K&N filters and the like do not have the ability to filter out the smaller particles that could be detrimental to our engines.

yeah thats what i use dual stage 1/8 air filter for my big block slayer pro.. just curious about them thanks for the input.

I agree. As small as these engines are, one little spec of sand or the like could be disastrous. Although those filters do work well in other types of applications where high air flow is needed. Every time I've used a K&N style filter for offroad use (other than RC, Ex. my dirt race carts, ATV and such), I've always used a foam outer filter on it as well to pick up the smaller particles.

I really don't see a need to replace the stock air filter. It's been proven to work and does a good job.
