Kawasaki e revo

Today I bought a brand new Kawasaki e revo. How limited and how rare are these? I have a few fast mervs a 70+ mph one and I am working on a 80+ merv. I know all their weaknesses what should I keep an eye out for on these? Any must upgrades rpm arms for instance. Are the diffs strong without shimming? What else will it need? Thanks. hey it's fifty from the merv forum...welcome to the real dark side bud...ha ha...so u've gotten a erbe too now eh?...kewl...since i've got mine...i haven't played with my merv at all...kinda sad actually...i just don't have the time for it...its just sitting and i keep telling myself...u gotta get that thing back up and running...so far..not too interested in the merv...the erbe is just sooo much more fun...

i hope u enjoy urs...don't know about how "rare" they are...but i figure...it's just the erevo body painted with the kawasaki logo?...everything else is the same?...i dunno...don't quote me on anything...i know nothing...and i've proven it!!!

with my experience so far...all the stuff that holds true for the merv, holds true for the erevo...stay away from intejunk and aluminum is only for looks...

again...welcome to the erbe world and i definitely look forward to your work on ur new erbe...and as always...post lots of pics of ur mods...

A lot will tell you only to replace when things as the break...upgrades are really up to you and what you prepared to spend.

If you running 2/3s you will get frustrated with the diff pretty quick; its a reoccurring topic that keeps cropping up here. If you bashing hard with big air you may want to upgrade to RPM arms. Sway bar kit will also serve you well as well as taping your tyres; balancing your wheels will make a world of difference too.

I am a big air basher and just generally tearing up the dirt and also do a lot of speed runs from time to time ...here is a link to my build thread. You may find some info in there that may be of some use to you.

diffs.... alot depends on your driving (backflips) 2s or 3s....
3s will tear them up quicker..

same story diffs!
when i saw a replacement kawasaki body on ebay are going for 100 i decided to pu a stock blue body to bash with.i mainly bought it to get my daughter back interested in driving with me . i built her a merv from parts with a 5200kv motor but now that she is 13 would rather go to the mall or stay home on the computer!
i am converting her merv to a 9000kv bb for some real speed runs and this might get her back out with my neu 1112 1/y merv

when i receive it same old story- plan on keeping it stock (we know how that goes) runs on 2s batteries for now so diffs again! shim them or do they make aftermarket ring and pinions? i know lazy -i should do some searching! thanks

i have a snap on body and wing that came with my erevo and i am making a 2x4 and wing mount and body mounts that mount on a 2x4 for display just a idea on what to do with the kawasaki body. thats the only thing thats special about it...

Awesome! Stay 2s for no diff problems, at least for 4 months for me lol. But I do have two complete spare diffs on stand by.. just in case haha. Can't wait to see you try to keep it stock lol

After seeing the Kawasaki go for 100 on eBay I picked a blue body for bashing!
Remember right now it's mainly for my daughter!

which 3s batts fit in the revo chassis? i have two 3s 5000mah 35c venom soft packs and they barely fit, with a lot of force. I don't know how old your daughter is but i am running 4s total and i still love this thing and it will still do standing backflips... lucky girl

Yep But. Her merv will be. Too fast or her with the 9000kv and 4 cell. And where we ride an erbe will go up those hills so much better button. But on the street my merv will walk away from it !

Slipper Clutch Break-In
The E-Revo Brushless Edition’s slipper clutch requires a break-in procedure
to ensure consistent operation with the extremely high power output of
the included Castle Creations Mamba Monster brushless motor system. The
slipper clutch has been adjusted to the correct initial setting for break-in.
Follow these steps to ensure maximum performance and life from your
slipper clutch:
1. Make your first runs with the model using the stock gearing and 6- or
7-cell NiMH packs, or 2S LiPo packs.
2. Drive normally. The slipper clutch should slip momentarily when
accelerating aggressively on high-traction surfaces (you will hear a
whirring sound when the slipper clutch allows the spur gear to slip).
3. If excessive slippage is noticed (slipping that lasts for more than 3
seconds under hard acceleration), or the slipper clutch slips anytime
the throttle is applied at any lever, stop driving immediately. Let the
slipper clutch cool for 10-15 minutes. When the clutch is cool, test-drive
the vehicle again. If you still experience excessive slippage, allow the
slipper to cool once more, then tighten the slipper nut ¼ turn (turn the
nut clockwise) and repeat the break-in process. Do not adjust the slipper
clutch before it has cooled.
4. Continue to run the vehicle and monitor slipper clutch performance as
noted above, and readjust if necessary. When the run is complete, the
slipper should be fully broken in.
After break-in, the slipper clutch is ready for any type of driving, with any
batteries up to 6S Lipo. Set the slipper clutch so it only slips for a moment
(if at all) under hard acceleration in high-traction conditions. If excessive
slippage is noticed, stop driving immediately. Continuing to drive with a
loose slipper will cause damage to the slipper unit. You must let the slipper
cool down to ambient temperature before tightening the slipper nut and
resuming driving.

once it is broken in, I run my pretty tight hardly any to no slip, but all I am running is dirt right now........
so 1/4 out.......maybe...

mine has a traxxas HD slipper clutch and its set to where i cant turn the spur while supporting the end shaft with allen wrench.

broke the lipo batteries in today ran pretty good! then my daughter ran into my leg .yes still hurts

then we ran into each other with my merv. erbe won -broken servo saver on the merv

so should i shim my diffs or at least check them or wait til i have trouble? staying 2 cell for the near future but i do like wrenching!

I like to break in the diffs (5~10 runs) then shim them up...

shimming a differential makes it so that the differential wont slip, or what?

Yeah it does fit; those are the hardened replacement gears everyone talks about...just cant find someone who ships to Australia. Have a look at post #20 to 22...that's an example of how I just shimmied my diffs .
