    Unhappy Summit?

I am having a hard time deciding what to get. I have a Slash VXL 2wd I am thinking about selling to get the Summit, but I don't think I am going to be as happy with it. Ya, it has 4 wheel drive, lockers, and a whole bunch of power, but is it still cooler then the Slash? I know that the Slash can haul balls and can almost get over anything, but I just am so confused if I should sell and buy the Summit or just keep the Slash. Any ideas?

Do you have terrain to challenge it?
If not you may not enjoy it as much.
It's not really fast or nimble, but will go pretty near any where its pointed.
The worse the trail the better the summit likes it....lol

Yes i agree jamann the first thing to ask is do you have anywhere to use it like it should be used. The summit does really look for some tuff stuff to stop it. I haven't stopped it yet.
It satisfies me in high gear. still drifts, skids and rakes up the dust in dirt so i am pleased.
As far as strength goes well mine has lasted fine for 6 months. so far i have only busted a centre drivshaft.

Get a summit, unless you have nothing other than grass on your property. If you have hills, creeks and stuff. Get the summit. Sash is cool and fast, but you can't get the slash to go over rocks and stuff. If you really want speed, throw a brushless in the summit, but there is no reason to have a brushless because it won't handle for crap. But the summit is the best truck I have bought. It's a beast and nothing will stop it.

The terrain I have around here is rain, snow, mud, dirt, gravel, little hills with big boulder that I take my dirt bike up, and the mountain are just a short drive away. With the stock batteries though, you said it still fling dust and rocks even though it says it is sort of slow? I guess 20 mph just sounds slow when I have a slash that usually goes around 40 mph.

The summit is fast for that big truck, it will fling stuff everywhere! If your in a mud hole, you can fling mud everywhere. Yeah, compared to my 100 mph merv the summit is slow, but its fast for having locking diffs, 2 speed tranny, huge tires, and 4wd. My revo 3.3 has a top speed of 40 but that's coming out of a nitro. Your terrain sounds excellent for the summit, I run mine in 5 feet of snow and it is a beast. I'm running chains on mine in the winter months. Crawling with the stock tires is fun, I have mine lifted about 5 inches though

Like everyone said, if you dont have terrain meant for the Summit it gets boring quick. Its not meant to be driven fast so dont think you could put a BL setup in it and drive it fast. If you want something fast think about the Erevo.

....what, i disappear for a bit and people swoop on my name?

if your thinking of selling it then obviously it isn't working for you, so maybe you should try something different... the summit is an awesome all around truck that can be tuned towards speed or crawling depending on preference....

Please be aware that quarreling over usernames may lead to name changes for the involved parties.

The only reason I want to sell my Slash is so I could get a better RC vehicle, but I am debating on if I should spend my $700 in cash on an RC Truck, or if I should save it and be $700 closer to buying a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Hmmmmm. Both have lockers and 4wd, just on is smaller and one is bigger. So hard to choose!!!!!!!

You two who are quarreling about names, why don't one of you be Traxxas Summit Crawler, and one you be something like Beast Summit Crawler?

I was just about to suggest something along those lines. It kinda depends on your real car. If you drive a 4x4 on a daily basis then the summit would probably interest you more. If your car or dream car is a mustang or camaro then you may be happier in a slash or something faster. I drive a jeep and an old land rover, so obviously im a summit lover.
