Velineon Brushless Motor problem

so. i was playing with my rc and all of a sudden it stopped, weird beeping noise, and smelt like burning electronics. SO im wondering if my motor blew? i assume so but i wanna know from you guys.

What battery/s? Where is the smell coming from? the esc is easy to slid out and get close up
for a
sniff test.. read the manual also it has many a good info that may help

Being brushless, there isn't much to burn out of a motor.
Probably the ESC...

the esc works its the motor thats making the weird smell and noise. the esc DID smell funny and i took it off and took it apart and smelt and i dont know if the smell if from that or the motor.. i know what your saying jimmy weird. motor is locked.

Disconnect esc and touch all thre motor wires together then try to
Roll your truck back an forth. If there is drag or resistance motor is probably alright. Traxxas
will most likely want you to sent motor and ecs anyway. They are great to deal with, at least in all
of my cases.

you can get new motors velineon 380 on ebay for $30 buy it now, don't wait for the auctions if you do try and get one from ebay, i waited two days and ended up paying what i would of payed if i just bought it right then.

ok i just checked it again and the esc started getting hot so i think its that.. great! but i made a video of it.

what other esc and motor will fit?

hmmm...do you have another motor to hook that esc up to and see if it will turn that motor? then that would eliminate it being the esc.

the motor is locked and i dont. i cant spin the pinion gear on the motor... and the esc wires for the motor get really hot and so does the esc. that 0:22 vid i posted it got hot AF

I still think it is the ESC.... but read my sig. lol

If the motor spins by hand... it is probably ok.
The only things to go in a motor:
Bearings
Over heated demagnetized magnets
Broken windings
Over heated de-stuck glue

just got it to spin make a grinding noise and the gear is wobbling (screw is tightened) idk i think i might send it in as well as go get a new one so i dont have to wait. idk =( lol
