Another Question- Build from roller or buy complete??

I decided to buy fresh new car then buy used unless one comes up at a good or reasonable price. But what im looking for is which one is a better way to go build from a roller or complete. What i researched is buying new obviously you get everything perfect and then go bash. But from the roller you can buy custom parts like wheels, tires, bodies, servos and much more. So far i will want to go build from a roller but debating on weather it will be cheaper. A complete costs around $420 to $440(online to local). I looked online and a custom will cost around $380 if i get all the parts as cheap as i say them so far. let me know what you think:

If you want to upgrade parts, and customize the car a roller would be a better choice, unless you get lucky and found a nice roller already upgraded.

If you plan on upgrading then a roller is the most cost effective. If you want to just start bashing and stay mostly with 2S lipo then go with new. Upgrades are not cheap.

I am building piece by piece from scratch. I am gonna try to stay as stock as possible, but could have saved cash by buying a 150$ roller. If you are gonna mod everything with aftermarket including towers, arms, bumpers, alum carriers, c-blocks and axles, buy piece by piece. You will have most of that roller left over when you are done...

my plan is buy a roller with vxl motor and esc. 2075 servo everything stock for electronics then tqi radio and reciever i planned it out as about $350 for everything then batteries charger for about 100 so save abou t$50

For that price You can get a brand new one from tower

ya i have looked for over a month on craigslist and people are asking $350 for heavily used ones and $400-420 for slightly upgraded models. I will probably do roller and build gradually instead of slapping down $450
