Thanks, guys! Not having kids and working third shift leaves me plenty of time for working on rc projects. When I have a day off, I HAVE to stay up all night! What else am I gonna do??
Won't be any updates for a little bit. I just got a call from one of my oldest friends who lives four hours away. He's working this week 20 mins. up the road for the week and he's on third shift as well! Lots of catching up....

Well, just a few more little details to finish up, and I can call this build complete. I have just about all the painting done to the interior and the helmets. Just a few touch ups once some paint dries and then I'll put it all together.

    Interior looks pretty good.

    Helmets painted to match!

It's good to have almost every color of Tamiya model paint on hand....

So now I just have to wait for warm weather, take a broom to my alley, and this baby will be ready for drift action. I got the helmets on the bodies (love clear rtv silicone), the stick shifter inserted, and everything put together. Looks pretty good. The nice thing is that when I lift the body off, the interior comes off with it. No Velcro or tape required! Here's the pics of the final product....

    Helmets installed....

Here's how the rear of the interior mounts.

The front is held on with the wiper bolts.

    Driver ready! Note the gearshifter.....

Can't hit the road without a spare!

Better know what kind of roads are ahead.

If you see this in the rearview, better move over!

    The final product.

I used to be a Store Manager of a Hobbytown, and when the owner decided to close it, he gave me a lot of goodies. I got three mats, storage racks, a Traxxas dealer handbook (one of my prized possessions; it is a manual & parts guide to every model), Traxxas DVD's, a Nitro plane, countless rc company dealer books, rc banners and about 3 grand worth of parts and supplies for about $400! This included all the Parma Faskolor paints and the rack to hold them. Half of my basement looks like a hobby shop. I also have enough plastic model kits to last for about the rest of my life. When he told me he was going to retire and close the store because of the terrible economy, I think we cried a little bit together. That was the best job ever. He even let me custom paint customer's bodies on the clock and I got to negotiate the price with them and keep the cash! (Said just having the service kept people buying bodies there.) I couldn't wait to get to work every day. Most days my wife had to call me and tell me to come home.....
