    Studded tires

    Well winter is coming and I was just wondering how to stud traxxas tires?

    You might want to try chains.. then the tires will still be usable if you take the chains off. Ive never done studded tires so I dont know the best way to do it.

    I've studded a set of tires with either 3/8" or 1/2" (can't remember) self tapping screws. They have a real sharp tip so they dig in nice. No easy way to do it,..just gotta spend about an hour pushing them threw with a screw gun. With tires off. I used these tires at strip malls and such where they plow up those HUGE mounds of snow. What's really fun is when those mounds freeze over. Then the slash goes into ice crawler mode....good times

    Cool! I will try that, I am used to studding Dirtbike tires so I shouldn't be bad at this.

    I used a 1/8th buggy set up, but that's just because it's what I had. I would think that a firmer set up, like mine, would be better. Otherwise a soft tire won't allow the stud to bite as much.
