Has anyone used Ofna LX2 Ultra Shocks front and rear on their slash? By the measurement they look like they will work. They are also very beefy looking and at $20 a pair, cheap too.

They look awfully close to the D8's and other 16mm shock's. For that price it might be a good idea to try them out.

Yep. I think i remember some people using them a while back. My main thing is that theyre cheaper.

I've tried the LX1 shocks on both my 2WD and 4x4 Slash. The difference is the LX1's are 13mm, vs. the LX2's at 16mm. They made a big improvement in handling.
For the LX1's, the stock yellow springs seem to work perfect for racing....soft enough to where you have to turn the collars down about 4mm. I started with 35-37.5 wt oil in them.

Is that for the rears? ^^ And how about durability.
Land of the free?
Yep I have those on my rig. They work great with a little modification, reduce the travel about 1/4 inch with fuel tubing and
you'll have to mount the rears a little farther our on the a-arm to achieve a level ride.
Also I'm using the Greg Nuibe adapters but, I pretty sure you could get away without.

Fronts and rears.....
Like posted above, you'll need to slip a piece of fuel tubing under the piston to take out a little bit of down travel, but it's not much. I'm using yellow springs front and rear, and can mount them in the same lower hole location as stock.
Durability wise, they're 1/8th scale shocks.....short of launching your truck into a brick wall at full throttle, you're not likely to do anything that will hurt them. LOL

Ok, I'll probably be ordering a set. I will however get the lx-2s because I'm building a monster slash. Thanks for the help!

never heard of those adaptors, but i've used the strc aluminum adaptors w/ lx-2 shocks.
rustler vxl, slash 4x4 and now spec class slash.
Link please? I can't find them.

Will the tekno rc shock mounting posts work?

Make sure you can get the right rebuild kits for them before you buy... The ofna buggies change shocks like underwear...
LETS GO PENS!!!!
Too late. I bit the bullet and bought a new set of Big Bores on ebay. Got a good deal I couldn't pass up.

I looked for a rebuild kit on Tower and just the bodies adn cap are almost $30 I may order 2 pairs, that way I got to hot back ups.
If they don't work I find one of the best things about our Hobby is the engineering aspect we get to tweak and modify until it does work and to me that's more gratifying than buying apart that fits directly because it fits directly. If that makes any sense to u.
Sc love!!!
i figured i'd post here, these shocks are way to big for the slash, they are longer than my Emaxx shocks, so now i'm using them on my Emaxx, these buggies must take a beating, there is a gallon of shock oil in there!
