    Bandit body

My dad has mentioned switching to a bandit body for his Rusty. Any benifits or disadvantages in this change. We just bash not into racing. He is looking for something different than we have done so far on bodies. I wonder about exposed towers breaking more. Thanks.

Hey Missouri... The bandit body is more aerodynamic for speed runs and you can protect the towers by installing a wing... so then the wing gets beaten up, not the tower. And a bandit body looks pretty cool on the Rusty.

Thanks OG! I might need to get him one painted up for christmas. At least I won't have to figure out mounts this time.

Another advantage is electronics protection, not that it matters much with Traxxas electronics as they are waterproof. But the Bandit body fits really flush, pretty much like a Rustler underbody, do dirt is very unlikely to get into the chassis.

I'd raced under rain with just a tiny bit of tape to cover the servo plugs, that's it, no other waterproofing. And the inside of the Bandit was totally dry and clean.

    1. The body will keep inside the chassis much cleaner like mentioned.
    2. You only need 2 body clips which is nice.
    3. If you have aluminum shock caps, they will get scratched on top from flips.
    4. If you mount your ESC on the side you can cut out a side scoop which it right over the ESC to keep is nice and cool.
    5. No "parachuting" from the body.

If you use velcro, you can even go with a single body clip.
    Nobody is born with experience.

Thanks for all the advice. Sounds like a easy christmas present this year for him.

Ordered a clear stocker body yesterday. Now to figure out the paint scheme when it gets here.

If you use Velcro all around you can in fact use no body clips Quite a few racers do it.
