It is really a reliability or durability upgrade. The plastic part can melt and cause bearing damage the aluminum one fixes this weak link in the slipper clutch assembly.

King Headz 7075 Aircraft Billet Aluminum KHZ-TRX-6893. Going on 2 years of use and still fits nicely on the bearing.

I googled the part # that is in fact a bearing adapter...I did not know Kingzhead made one.

Don't think there is one for the center diff but I could be wrong I did not know Kingzhead made one for the slipper either LOL

I recently seen a thread with a pic of a center diff that had a blue alum ring on it.
Just picked up a center diff new in box. Looks exactly like the one that I got in my plat edition slash 4x4. no blue alum ring. Are there 2 versions of the center diff, or is this an aftermarket part???

    NIB center diff I got:

Will try to find the pic I saw and post it here.

Found the pic, was off of my ebay summary:

    Where does this come from:

Nvrmnd, the listing said diff... 8°(

Yah, my cash aint nothin but trash according to steve miller....

The center diff does not use an adapter, so either buy an alum center diff case or go plastic.

    Looking into the possibilities.

FLM, Fast Lane Machine makes a Center diff case. rcdirectonline.com aluminum center diff cup FLM 26010 $22.75. It helps dissipates heat and keep the center diff more consistent.BTW it will be red and not as pictured.Only current upgrade I know of hope this helps.
