Are you installed metal transmission gears? I wonder how much it will effect top speed, if at all.

Try it out, gear down so that you can reach full throttle/speed (or run 2S) and check your maximum speed with a stock transmission and the metal geared transmission. I'm curious.

Bet it will affect acceleration more than top end
I had them before and still ran 65 but they are a bit of weight

The teardown begins Boca yellow seal ceramics , aluminum shock caps, hr gears and futaba transmitter.taller gearing maybe 35/45 or 37/45 for the smaller foams

i spent about an hour shimming the transmission gears . 3 different shims 3 different thicknesses had to shim one shaft at a time snug up the bolts and if it was harder to turn take it apart and put in a smaller shim .
got it running and drove it around -sounds good so far so good.

ready for the 4 cell run with 37/45 gearing and small 3.25 foams but my new kawasaki erbe will be in tomorrow and waiting to try out the new spc 2500 batteries and the 5400 50c for the erbe.
guess the shopping spree is over for a while!

both of my mervs are ready to roll . new servo saver installed and the 9000kv has the castle cap installed . was going to hit the dirt but it's geared 37/45 for the speed run

just ordered a new 3908 e maxx to go along with the new 5608 e revo.that way the two mervs will be more for speed runs and don't have to keep changing gearing to go bashing

It's definitely a change going back and forth from 1/16 to 1/10, the 1/10 scale is more forgiving to drive but I couldn't choose one over the other.

Took the merv out on new years with 2s on dirt hawgs and 37/45 gearing.some bashing and then speed runs would wheelie at any speed and ran through two packs in parallel til it started to slow down and the motor barely even got warm!
That was some work me and my daughter with my erbe and embe and my merv and my bag heading up the trail to go bash

Got a new bug body for revo!

Geared the merv down for bashing. Now run 29/45 I run had plenty of power for a 3500kv .motor is setup for 4s but only running 2s. Tried 4s in the dirt once couldn't even hit 1/4 throttle

I took it out today and ran 4s with 40% punch and a mean throttle curve with a big 5/8 bolt strapped to the front and still couldn't keep the front end down!

This might be caused by coils having metal core on Neu......Castle I guess use empty coils....just a thought

Not really -lighter blue and a tint off from their other parts. My trans case is a lot lighter then even my rockers
