sorry *any*
Fourth channel??
Are you talking the thumb switch? (Channel 3)
Or a Summit specific locker switch? (Channels 4 and 5)
EDIT:
I forgot that Traxxas also uses the Summit remote for the Drag cars.

Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
i'm talking about the 3 position toggle switch on the front of the radio(channel 4)
That toggle switch is channel 4 and channel 5, not just channel 4.
Channels 4 and 5 are half channels... they only have half travel; they only travel from center to one side and back.
The switch might be able to be wired in such a way that
position 1 throws channel 4
position 2 (center) returns 4 to center
position 3 throws channel 5
EDIT:
Come to think of it, you can get the same effect by reversing channel 4.

ok but how do i cut power to the middle switch position. i've already tried removing wires. that does not work. any other suggestions? or am i effd?
what i'm working with is a rc4wd 9300xt winch. i need a neutral position so the winch isn't constantly working.
for a winch you'd need to use ch3.
Motorcycle/Quad,Think sand vehicle, piggy backs
This is correct.
As I said in post #5, channels 4 and 5 are half channels.
Channel 3 is the only channel possible for a winch.
This thread will give the thumb switch a center off position:
