    Body Strengthening?

So I read on this forum about SHOE GOOING and DRYWALL TAPING the inside of the body for added strength. So I thought I would try it. But instead I found A fiberglass cloth and two part epoxy kit that I used to patch the hull of my Jet Ski. I thought, Humm, It worked on the Jet Ski and is water proof. So I Tried it on my Truck Body. well, It lasted for only a few battery packs before it popped off from three of the four body post hole areas that I cover. Plus it took the paint off the body. Bummed ! I don't recommend doing what I did. Does the SHOE GOO and DRY WALL TAPE stay more flexable and bond better?

Yes it works out really well. Just search youtube for a couple how to vids and you will see how flexible the body is after. You don't need to do the whole body unless you bash extremely hard. I tried the resin once and it didn't work out too well. Buddy of mine repairs boats for a living and specializes in fiber glass and together we couldn't come up with a very good fiberglass solution at all.

Yeah go for the shoe goo and drywall tape - works really well, strong but slightly flexible. I have found that it can affect the paintwork slightly, but nothing serious.

+1 on drywall tape and shoe goo makes your bodys last for ages plus put body washers under the drywall tape where the body posts are to make a bit more bullet proof

What about using your lexan body as a mold and laying carbon fiber and resin in there, same shape, way stronger, and cool looks

My Photobucket is the same as ever???

CF may be much more expensive than goo n tape. If you have it lying around, it would be an awesome project though.

First try, got the front body post done. The one rear one, the tape kept peeling up. I'll try it again once the shoe goo has dried.

What if yout tried taking that truck bed liner in a can and sprayed it on? it's ment for protecting the bed of a full size pickup, so it might work on a 1/10...

It tends to peel off after hard landings and repeated abuse.
