Did you shred your rear center cvd too?
BB MERV/550 Rusty/OS21REVO
Drive it like its Hot
The hill had some mean dips so lots of wheel spin then traction. And I was nailing it hard. Haven't pulled it apart but I am thinking the ring gear is missing more than a few teeth!
LOL. I KNEW front wheel drive didn't have much traction!Could be as simple as a broken center drivshaft...
DeWalt 1/8 Summit, Slash XL-5, Slayer Pro 3.3.
i have cvds all around and thought i heard clicking as i started up the hill !
turns out the ceramic pinion bearing failed again! same thing happened up front the inside bearing shattered and wiped out the ring gear.of course acer will only replace the bearing which there is no way i will use it there! stock traxxas bearing is going back in .![]()

That sucks...Sorry to hear that
Do you think that those acer bearings are just a bad batch?
Did it ruin both ring gears
i replaced all of my bearings with them . only had problems on the pinions .i would like to know if it was a bad batch acer just replaced the bearing and wouldn't tell me anything. yes it ruined both ring gears so 24.00 and the time to replace it shim it and pull it apart later to reshim.
i am going to email them again .maybe it is a problem once i could see but not twice and never had problems with traxxas bearings
sorry to hear that 50. you dont always get what you pay for and its a shame
Ceramic is just more fragile than steel. Those diff housings, particularly made of aluminum transfer a lot of hit. The smaller, the more likely to crack.
I hate having differential problems.
ERBE, MERV BB
good grief sorry to hear what happen 50 thats gotta be a pain especially since those bearing sets aren't cheap >.<
Acer says its not a problem with their bearing
Funny though never had a problem with the stock bearing!
Has anyone had a fairly new pinion bearing go bad like this?
I never had a stock go bad that quick
I've only used the one HS sells without any packaging n don't know what the brand is,
but it is a metal shield bearing
Also have rc screw bearings but they seem like they're going good so far
Then again, I am a lil bit of a clean freak n clean every so often
you're not fixing that with WD-40!
So here you say that it has happened in the past and then you tell me in another post that they are sweet and very good and so on. A bearing that shatters this way... TWICE... well not sure why you would promote them so others but them. 80-90 USD a kit aint cheap....
Hope i dont have the same issue.
I don't think 50 would promote something that is garbage
It's just a bad thing that it happened twice...
Ceramics are usually used for less rotating friction and a tad lighter
Those are good if ur serious bout speed or a racer
Just a bad production run
Bearings are a big part in rc n 1/1 vehicles
i haven't had a problem on any of the others bearings and must of been a bad batch second one happened after i posted to you . i don't expect any more problems and they help my car rip faster than the speed calculator says it should . that and my motor turns a higher kv than spec!
Will see how my BB treats them soon :-)
They will be nice and smooth don't kmow if i. trust the pinion bearings
I Even have Boca bearings in the motor
