EVX2 & Transmiiter...Is this normal?

I finally installed my DeWalt motor last night...I was checking out that everything was working and that all servos connected into the correct channels.

What happened is that I powered off my transmitter before I powered down my ESC. Once the transmitter was switched off the truck started throttling on its own...turned the transmitter back on and it stopped.

My question is; Is this normal for the EVX2 to behave like this...or is something wrong?

What tx rx are you running?
My am would do odd things
But the 2.4 and the tqi just sit there and do nothing.esc won't even arm I don't think.built in fail safe not sure.if you are running am,put caps on.
If there are others around you running.
The caps are a good idea as well.
It's spewing out radio noise that can effect others.

Running the new Traxxas 5 channel RX with the 2.4 TQi transmitter. No other vehicles running at the time of the test. Tried again at work this morning and same thing.

Turn transmitter off and truck stars accelerating...turn back on and it stops. I can turn the ESC on with transmitter off and the truck does nothing.

It only happens was the transmitter has been on and then turned off while the ESC is on...

Watch for other strange behavior when the Tx is on. Right now the worst you have to do is "first on, last off" with the Tx. Other problems may point to Tx failure.

my 2.4 used to do this, reprogramming the Tx back to it's default with fully charged batteries,
Set everything on the Tx back to zero,
reprogram the esc neutral point
check to see if everything turns are moves forward/back,
If ok, you can start tuning the Tx's dual rates/expo.
fresh/charged batteries in Tx is important.

Thanks for the feed back guys...I figured out the problem and got it working.

I tried the 70/30 setting on the Tx; that's where the issue came in once the Tx was switched off my truck would run away. Changed it back to 50/50 and its working 100% .

Just a side note whenever you change that setting you have to recalibrate the end points

Thanks...I did that with the 70/30 settings; all worked well until I turned the transmitter off and then RUNAWAY truck. I tried it a few times...it just didn't like the 70/30 setting.

It's working fine on the 50/50 setting...I am happy to use 50/50 setting

Ya I don't think I ever bothered trying the 70/30 haven't needed it yet.You never know I may have to try it just to see.

if you need good control of reverse you need 50/50
if you race or have nitro 70/30 is the way. It does nothing for speed it's all about a finer control of the throttle.
