Is this a Good Battery Charger?

I got this battery charger way back last year when I got my Slash. It cost $50 and I'm just wondering if this a good NiMh battery charger. I don't have or want lipo's right know, so that's out of the question. It's a Duratrax ONYX 200 Ac/dc Sport peak charger. It says it's for 4-7 cell NiMh batteries, and it's a peak detecting charger, with auto trickle. It charges at 1.5 amps, 3 amps, and 5 amps. I just want to know for when I get my Summit if this charger will be good to use to charge the Summit's stock batterys, and to help them last longer. Also, what is the best way to use this charger? Charge them at 1.5 amps? If I try to charge my Slash's battery at 1.5 amps, it will time out because it didn't reach it's peak. I really don't know much about chargers, so any advise is much welcome! Thanks! Wolfslash16

Most chargers do a good job at charging nimh's nowadays. To make nimh's last longer you do not want to charge at a high amp rate so I would stick to 3 amps.

That charger will work fine with the stock batteries. Probably not so well on a high-dollar nimh pack.

For charging rate, basically just charge at 1C. If the packs are 3000mah, charge at 3 amps. If they're 5000mah, charge at 5 amps.
