how big of lipo do i run with that

I have ran two 2200mAh 2S and two 1800mAh 3S batteries in parallel.
3S is a little on the hot side... I suggest those for speed runs only.
2S works perfect... back to back running without any real issues.

and what kind of speed does that give on 2s? and what mods or upgrades do i need for the motor combo

What motor mount does your roller come with?

The only upgrades my Boss has is a center differential, shocks, tires/rims, and servo.

With 28/45 gearing you can expect about 30mph.
