19/54 gearing with 2s?

I am thinking about re-gearing my slash 4x4 to 19/54. I want speed without heat. I don't forsee me running 3s's at all so can I gear the slash at 19/54 for a 2s safey? I am going to get an esc fan. For $20, why not

19/54 should be fine. I ran it on 2s and 3s. 2s kept the temps down, even though I had no problem running 19/54 on 3s with the vxl

I'm running a sct 3800 2s 40c 5000mah geared 19/54 and now 19/52 and i have no issues running hard pack dirt, street or grass. I'm going to change too 17/54 once i fry this spur gear. i am running fans on motor and esc.

I ran 17/50 on 2s when I had the velineon.

It got hot, but never thermaled on me.

I have a lead finger, 2s might be okay, 3s did me in. I do run on short grass and asphalt though

3s it will cook quick. 2s will also do you in on that gearing all the time. Maybe just a little slower process. Sell your stocker and buy something that can handle higher voltage and gearing. Im speaking from personal experience killing my stock in a week

Pretty much this, mine was getting hot on 2s running 13/53 at a hard packed clay track, i would advise getting a better combo which can handle the speeds and punishment you want to give it.

Cooked Velineon ESC
Cooked SV2 SCT ESC

At that point I went to the big boys and never looked back.
Castle MMP/1410 minimum
MMP/2400 great
MMM/2650 even better
Tekin RX8/T8 2650 best so far for my uses.
