I'm going to be racing on a hard dirt track so I need some new tires. What do you think about this combo?

If I was going to run my MERV at a track I would be getting a set of Traxxas 7171 rims with the Response tire mounted up on them.

Pro response tires are about 4 inches though aren't they?

According to Tower Hobbies spec page they are 3.39" diameter.

that combo should be fine, looks like an aggressive tread on a touring car wheel

I ran those for a while and they have great grip but dont expect them to last long at all. I got maybe 10 sessions(20 min a piece) out of them before they were bald.

That is actually considered pretty good for a true track or racing tire. I've seen serious racers run a set of tires one 5-6 minute race and then give them away saying they were too worn to run in the next heat race.

Sounds like I need to go watch some races and get some tires Also just for reference I ran the hard compound of that tire.
