    ERBE LiPos

So I think my current Lipos are on their way out and im looking at purchasing some new pairs within a reasonable cost.

Im looking at a 3s and 2s setup

    - 3s 11.1v 5000mah 20c (maybe higher mah rating and C ratings)
    - 2s 7.4v 5000mah 20c (maybe higher mah rating and C ratings)

SPC are currently off my list as their shipping costs were overpriced to Australia
Will consider SPCs if there are other places to purchase them

    Thanks.

Go to ebay and get some from China. Only a few companies actually manu lipo batteries anyway and they will be the same. Winforce, or winmax or something like that.

I'm not sure if you can be very picky from Australia.

You can have a cheap battery and high shipping, or you can pay more locally. I'm not sure if there is another option.

If you can I would really look at a 5000 mAh 30 or 40C.........150 amps & 200 amps
    a 5000 mAh 20c is only 100 amps........

    This is a good start..
Just don't buy no name Ebay batts...

    MY BATTS:
    2S 9000 x 28C = 252,000 divide 1000 = 252 amps
    2S 8000 x 28C = 224,000 divide 1000 = 224 amps
    3S 5200 x 40C = 208,000 divide 1000 = 208 amps
    2S 4700 x 25C = 117,500 divide 1000 = 117.5 amps
^I run in my Summit.. ^ Requires proper gearing^

    ( mah x c rating / 1000 = amps)

    The
more amps the better / minimun of 120 amps.

The ESC will only draw the amount of amps it needs.

Higher the mAh the longer the runtime.
For brushless systems 8000 mAh about 45 min & a 5000 mAh about 30 min.
Times are longer for brushed systems.

Batts in series double the voltage:
    2x 2s 20c 5000mah = 4s 20c 5000mah

Batts in parallel double the mah capacity:
    2x 2s 20c 5000mah = 2s 20c 10,000mah.

A temp gun is kind of a must have.....

Hot motor + cool esc = under geared.
Cool motor + hot esc = over geared
    Everything warm just right..

Motor ~ 180/190*F (82/88*C) maximum, ideally 140/160*F (60/71*C), temps can be 10*F higher inside the motor
ESC ~ pretty much same temps / Fan comes on @ 150*F (65*C)
    Lipo's ~ 140*F (60*C) max, ideally 100/120*F (38/49*C).........

Besure to check sizing before you buy any batteries...

In time some batteries will become discontinued...

No particular order as to good, better, or best....

    2S

With larger Lipo battery wires, you might need to - enlarge the exit hole on battery doors....
or run wires out the vents..

    hey man.

im my small 2 years experience on helis and e-revo, i would never buy any battery under 40-45C anymore. nobody out there has true C ratings anyway, there is a forum somewhere explaining that and testing batteries internal resistence etc. but i always find the 40+C more powerful and lasting on any type of rc

those 40c gens ace seem nice

No they won't. 31mm is the absolute maximum.

from that very same page...it says it doesn't fit erbe...

PACK DIMENSIONS: 136mm long x 43.5mm wide x 34mm deep, 390g. Weight includes Traxxas or Deans connector. This pack does NOT fit the Traxxas ERevo, but by using the Traxxas Battery Expansion Kit the pack will fit the Traxxas Slash 2WD and 4WD, Traxxas Stampede 2WD and 4WD and Traxxas Rustler and Bandit. (Please check your vehicle for size and fit) This pack will fit in most 1/10th scale, ground-based vehicles; however chassis modifications may be required for others.

so i'm wondering what they mean when they say deep and wide?

The US Postal system added a new regulation this past May that prohibits shipping LiPo battery packs using USPS as a courier. This regulation change forced many companies to go the UPS route; however UPS international shipping costs can be and many times are extremely expensive. Typically these high shipping costs are just passed on to the customer as the battery companies have no control over these costs.

I think you are going to be stuck with outrageous shipping no matter who you get them from, unless you can find a supplier locally. Have you considered making some packs out of A123 cells, maybe you could find them cheaper than rc car packs.

The owner / sales rep informed me personally that they WILL fit. Don't personally know as I do not own any yet
