Hey man. Maybe they have since learned but our favorite hobby store tried to give me 5x8 bearings like the old trucks used to take. Make sure you get the right size.

To the men and women of the US military, thank you

You'll like those RPM arms. I have them on my truck, and had a slight accident getting a little wide on a turn and running the right front tire under the work truck tire at speed. The Proline body was all crumpled, popped it out, checked over the RPM arm and the rest of the suspension (STRC), NO damage. The RPM arm flexed enough to save everything. Even the front toe in was OK. Anything else would of broken or bent. Still have to fix the paint on the body, all the flexing flaked the paint off where it crumbled.
I LOVE it when someting actually lives up to it's rep!![]()

OUCH!!! I feel your pain!! Your Slash is a MONSTER though!!!! Thanks for the updated progress!!!
New stuff today! While at the lhs, I got the idea to add desert lights to the slash. I bought traxxas part #6784 which includes LEDs, a harness to plug into the receiver and light canisters. And it's a direct bolt up to the rpm front bumper.

that MMP is a nice set up, I'm pretty sure its most effcient at 3s i only run 2s and thought my truck was fast enough, but i've never done all out speed runs, i'm curious now to see how fast I can get the slash going.
The balls run just fine outside of the bearing race too, just not for this application! LOL
The ceramics are better in many aspects, less friction and longer life. The only reason I havent tried them yet is I still cant get past the price tag. Ive been running the acer bearings, non ceramic, and so far they seem to be lasting longer than stock and might just be an amicable solution as the kit is no more than ordering all the stock ones individually, maybe a few $$ more.
Some more pics..
changes since last pics are.. Proline split six beadlocs, proline switch m2 tires, rpm front arms, rpm front bumper, traxxas 6784 light kit, and dyed the chassis black.
