    Brand new E-Revo(Snap-on) Tuning?!?

I had just recieved my new E-revo, i want to run this on 11.1v 6s 5000mah 35c batt. i run these same batteries in my e-maxx and it runs fine no problem. Is there anything pinion and gear wise? I know that it says on the mamba monster speed/pinion/spur chart it says for 40plus 18/54 on 2s, can i run 6s on 18/54? cuz on that chart its saying to me that i can only go 35 with the stock pinion and spur and for 65 and beyond its 24/54, but i am not going to be just runing for high speeds. I really dont care about 65mph and beyond. My e-maxx is on 11.1v 6s 5000mah 35c with 17/68 stock pinion and it is fast enought for me. Any opinions or experiences with different gearing info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

24/54 is a bit over geared for bash'n, great for speed runs just like it says. 20/54 to 18/54 is a good start......

A temp gun is kind of a must have.....

Hot motor + cool esc = under geared.
Cool motor + hot esc = over geared
    Everything warm just right..

Motor ~ 180/190*F (82/88*C) maximum, ideally 140/160*F (60/71*C), temps can be 10*F higher inside the motor
ESC ~ pretty much same temps / Fan comes on @ 150*F (65*C)
    Lipo's ~ 140*F (60*C) max, ideally 100/120*F (38/49*C).........
Would you go flip my truck back over??

how do you run 5s with two batteries? thought they only come in 2's. And i didnt have a problem with my e-maxx, i just plugged two 3's lipo's 11.1v 5000mah and tightened the slipper clutch and off it went and had no problems at all. What do you suggest on batteries and voltage if i am gonna use the stock 18t pinion/optional 54t spur? Volt/C/mah/s?

You run the same 2s and 3s together...meaning ideally same brand, same C rating and same mah giving you 5s.

I run 6s at the moment with 20/56 gearing.

I´m new to the erevo aswell.

    First run
Gearing 68/18, batts: 2 (2s) 5000mah 50c. After 10 min just doing speed runs, the motor was 160F, esc around 110F, batts not even 100F.

    Second run
Gearing 54/20, same batts, temps was around the same.

Does that makes any sense? I´m comfident on the readings took them several times.

i believe that it might have to do with your C rating of your batteries. i run stock in my e-maxx with 2 (3s) 5000mah 35c. I have ran that for about an hour of bashing and never had any problems what so ever. But i have never used a head gun on my truck after running it like that, but it cools off within 10min of stopping tho.

under geared the motor is not HOT, but the ESC is only 110. Gearing up will cool the motor & raise the temps just a little on the ESC...will also give you a bit more speed....

why you are not as hard on the throttle to get that extra speed you now have with the 20/54

what is the LVC set at? an hour run time on a set of 5000 mAh, had to be pretty easy on the throttle....
usually a 5000 mAh will run 30 min
    8000 45 min ish
    9000 50 min ish

I was doing wot passes,,was thinking of gearing it lower since still can pull wheelies at full throotle. Wouldn´t that give me less torque, and more top end ?

Yes you can, will give you 50-60mph and is crazy fast but still wheelie on demand and do backflips if you feel like it.

I now run 18/58 but motor gets a bit to hot to eazy to hit top speed, will go back to 18/54.
