tried to leave, but it pulled me back in.

Hi all, been away from the hobby for a couple years babys and buying my first house will do that to a guy lol. Anyway I finally got back in to the game with my recent purchase of slash 4x4. I have a few questions if you all wouldnt mind helping. tomorrow i am going to buy the 2400 sct castle system. first i will list what ive done to the truck, then any ideas you guys have for what else i should do to handle this motor combo, would be greatly appreciated.thanks in advance.

so far I have upgraded RPM arms and towers, strc bellcranks, mip xduty front/rear revo slipper, ten-t shocks. venom 2s batteries and venom pro charger. I will also be purchasing the kings head motor mount,rr pinions 15-22t, 50 and 52 spurs.and either gens ace or spc 3s lipos for now.again thanks for any help and it is great to be back.

Sounds like you are on the right track, IMO I would do the 2200 or 2650, yeah it's over kill, but why not. The forum is here to help you, I know it has helped me resolve issues.

Sounds like you have everything in order. I have a SPC 3s lipo and I really like it. Do you have the stsndard or Ultimate 4X4?

You're going to need an esc mount. I run the e-revo esc mount on the slash. If you use that mount, you're also going to need a rustler receiver box, and relocate it to the front.

You'll also want to grab some aluminum hexes if you still have the stock plastic ones. I am having to replace the stock hexes every run or two, I stocked up on them while my aluminum hexes are being shipped.

Thanks guys for all the feed back so far.

Corex2: I do not have esc plate.do you know the part# by chance?

Dgb007: I i had the 2200 mamba monster in my slash 4x4 a couple years ago.I liked it but want to go this route this time.

EL SOB:I have the standard 4x4, I do wanna pick up a platinum roller though so i can put my traxxas esc/motor in it and still have my wt/snow mud fun.

one more question? should I go with different wheels/tires or will stock do for now?

Here is another alternative to the ESC mount, I tried the traxxas one and liked this better.

    http://snappyrc.com/xlpromount.html

Link for traxxas mount that is actually made for the mamba monster so the fit isnt as good and require finess and some extra padding underneath. They also dont include screws for the switch.

Can't beat SPC packs for the price, customer service and batteries include either Deans or Traxxas connector

IMO, If you're just bashing in the dirt or gravel I would use PL trenchers or badlands..For tall grass or rougher terrain you'll need 17mm hex adapters for bigger wheels n tires..Good all around tires for loose dirt or track are PL snipers, 2.0 Calibers(M2) or JConcepts subcultures(green)

Street tires I sugest JConcepts G-Locs. They are ribbed on inside (for your pleasure!). The ribbing keeps them from ballooning. I have the same equipment in my truck, if your off road I suggest the ProLine Trenchers.

    Check the G-Locs video

Is the srtc heat sink campatible with the king heads motor mount and mm 2400kv, when I slide the motor down to mesh there is a gap between mount and heat sink
