    New summit owner saying hello

Long time since I was on this forum, sold my revo 2,5r ages ago,(had a revo 1/16 a short period last year) but It was just to much watching all those clips on the tube of the summit

It's second hand , but in good shape. Barly used as he got bit by the heli bug. Wich I'm done with , hehe

I also got a Steel constant velocity driveshafts wich I picked up cheap from a guy with a 1/16 summit. He had ordered the wrong parts :-)

So feel free to chip in on must have upgrades.

    Thanks

    Ooooh a white one

All kinds of ideas here on the forum......

    1) Play with it like crazy!
    2) Figure out what you like to do with it?
    3) Then customize it to suit yourself!

Today I had to take a look the hubs, as one pivot ball was loose. And man were those BB's toast, one had rusted to the axel, so force and WD40 had to be used. I have to get me some new ones, but the old ones wil have to do untill then. They are soaked in wd40 untill the new ones arrive.

I use 80 weight all around.seems to help slow down the rebound when crawling similar terrain.

so that is stock, accept for 5s? that seems faster than mine, I have 2s do batteries have that much difference? do you have any other upgrades I'd be psyched if mine was as fast as yours is.

    Thanks!

Thats' bone stock. One 2s+3s lipo. And I expect it to be a tad faster once the wheel bearings is changed. Se my video in post 10. I'm stocked it even moved about :-) coz the outer bearings were almost locked on all 4 cornes.

But back to the question. It's a stock truck, old style esc without lvc. But yea,4s and 5s makes difference.

have a look at my boat. 4s up to about 2min, then 5s. Not ecaxtly a summit, but you get the idea.

Thanks man. It's like 30 sec walk from my home. It's my kid's school yard so to speak(part of it) And it's so great to drive there.

Today, It got new shock oil ,50, and new springs in the back. Changed out the bad bearings, and now it actuallt keeps rolling for a moment after I let go of the throttle :-)

when changing the oil and springs, why? I don't understand I assume to get it stiffer?? Wouldn'n think that would be good for crawling tho??

the oil was old and dirty, and it was sagging like an old lady. So it stiffen's it up a bit, don't think it will reduce the crawl ability that much .

So today I got some stuff for my summit. Picked up the Steel Constant-Velocity Center Driveshaft kit cheap from a guy who had bought them for his 1/16.

parallel board for the lipos. Time to retire the home made parallel cables.

lipo warning for the old style ESC. and some 'minimee' tools :-) They looked bigger on the website, haha, but thet have a nice feel to them. Also got soem anti skid to try out in the battery compartment.
Now it's just the BB's I'm waiting on, seems that several need's to be changed, and the diff's might need a check up to.

Also a short clip from last weekend.
