    Stampede out of the box?

Bought the pede vxl 4x4. Out of the box it sounds like the gears are really tight. It s a slight clicking when it moves. Traxxas said its normal and it is because how tight the gears are. Is this normal? Also my first run I rolled this thing 3 times. Gonna put my protrac suspension on tomorrow.

Usually the gear mesh is set properly out of the box, but if you are not sure just check it.

I use a even smaller pinion (9 Tooth) and it is pretty noise although i set the gear mesh right.

32 pitch is just more noisy than 48 -> bigger tooth

I personally use the "paper strap" method as recommended in the manual, but i use two papers stacked.

Never had any issues with spur gear so far.

I thought my p4de was awesome at cornering vs my 2wd slash! It would barely roll over. I added sway bars now and it made it even better! Check your shock locations and possibly move them out to lower the stance a tad.
