Youll prolly be limited to 2s with that high kv. 3s will get hot quick. Its all about voltage and gearing. There is a good speed calculator:

If you are doing strictly speedruns without stopping and starting constantly it might last for awhile. You'd be better off getting a lower kv motor (Slower but more torque or brute force). 7.4volts(2S) * 6000kv = 44000rpm The motor will be stressed to pull that rpm when geared higher for speed thus it will get hot. 6000kv motors max volt input is pretty much limited to 7.4v(2s). 11.1v (3S) will overspin it (66600rpm) or cook it trying to get there. Also a slash is a bit heavy for that. 6000kv would be better suited to a smaller scale truck or onroad car. Now a 3000kv can handle 3S no problem, that gives you 33300rpm backed up with more batt power and torque or twisting power in the motor. So you just gear higher to get back to the wheelspeed a 6000 on 2S would give you.

Think of it kinda like this..... it's not exactly the same thing but it might help you wrap your head around the electrical speak.........Lets say you are driving a 70' GTO that has a 455ci V8 (7500cc) producing 450hp & 475ft/lbs of torque at 5000rpm. That would be like a 3000kv or 2500kv on 3S or 4S. The 6000 or 6500kv motor would be like replacing the 455ci V8 with 1800cc DOHC Turboed I4 producing the SAME 450hp, catch is that I4 will only produce 260ft/lbs of torque at that HP level and need to rev at 9000rpm to do it. So the little screaming little 4cyl, even though it produces the same hp will not pull that big heavy car as quick or fast as the big torquey V8.
