Slayer 4x4 receiver problem

I have a traxxas slayer 4x4 nitro, works fine no problems. Except last time I ran it I left the receiver switch on. And needless to say it died. I am not about to go spend 30 bucks on a charger. Please post all your ghetto ways of charging a receiver without purchasing the expensive charger. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Um, depending on what battery you put in there, you can just replace the batterys with double aa's. If you have a rechargable battery in there, just recharge it. If you don't have a charger to charge it, then, sorry, you'll have to get a charger to recharge it. OR to make it cheaper just put some double aa's in the reciver. That's what I use and they take alost 50 run before they go dead.

How do I convert the receiver to use AA's? Seems like all it can do is connect to a charger. I'd love to just use the AA's that would make it a lot easier.

the only problem is running off AA's is your only giving your servo's 4.8 volts. a flat 5cell pack is 6.0 volts and gives your servos max speed and power!!! full potential servo action!

Thats fine with me I'm not super into RC cars, its just a spare time hobby so as long as it gets my weekend toy running again I'm happy lol. Is there a guide somewhere to convert?
