I'm tired of using the box with the styrofoam. What are you using to transport your Spartan and keep the rudder and prop safe?

build a small cradle from small diameter PVC pipe and wrap it with pipe insulation wrap from Lowes or home de-pot. even a sling to hold the boat inside a PVC stand or cradle would be cool
"Red"
"Who wants a Rod that you cant Mod?!"
as sound funny as it is, i use thick blanket and wrap it safely at the trunk but i still make sure the rudder is free from getting damage.
Instructions for a PVC boat stand can be found here.

The venom Spartan bag is real nice. Got padding all around the bag to protect it. And has handled too
I got mine here http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Rc-Boat-Carri...#ht_3475wt_689
Measure your box L x W x H then add up 1inch each sides to make a good fit in the bag once you put it together with the box.

good luck finding a venom bag there discontinued, the kr racing bags looks ok, no supported side though and will only work with stock rudder it looks to be a tad too short for aftermarket rudder setups. ive been using the original box n styrofoam that i cut out to fit my larger rudder while keeping it in the kr carbon stand. Now i cant close the box but the important stuff(running gear) is protected even in a van full of camping equipmentOh best part is you already have the box,oh unless you threw it out or burned it,lol.
I was having the same problem. To run my Spartan, I have to take it out on my 1:1 speed boat. I need something VERY supportive to keep it protected in the cabin of the boat. I was thinking of making something out of PVC... like a cradle/exoskeleton that would support the whole boat and keep it safe.

@Traxxastuesdays
Make a typical pvc boat stand like this one, and then put tape around the boat and stand so the boat will stick to the stand.

I bought mine used it came with a plastic boat stand think it was in the box when it was bought new

I made a PVC boat stand simular to Mustang's, but mine has handles on the top, that go over top of the boat; so I can carry my boat as if it was in a suit case.
I was going to make something like that Mustang... just with much more support. I was also going to make a top section that held the boat in the stand tightly. The top would separate from the bottom part so that I could get the boat out and use the botom as a typical work stand. I'll make a sketch or something because it's hard to describe.
To the men and women of the US military, thank you
I think I mentioned before that the only opportunity I have to run the Spartan is when we are stopped out on the 1:1 boat. It needs to be very secure and protected to hold up in this wild ride:
The water is 45 minutes from my house so I can't make a special trip just to run the Spartan for 15 minutes.

Well I decided to make my own transport. Here's what I have so far. The GF is making the bag out of Nylon that the frame will fit snuggly into. She's going to sew a solid panel into the bottom so I can attach pouches for my batteries and transmitter. The frame will be attached to the bag via small velcro strips. I plan to rivet velcro hold downs to the frame later today.

Bomber... I was thinking about making that exact same design over the weekend. I even thought about adding small compartments to carry lipo's, tools, greases, etc. From the looks of the 2nd picture, it seems like you'll be doing the same at the bottom of the case. You could always use ABS plastic for the bottom base.
Let us know how the final design works out for you.

@THEBOMBER, you give me an idea on getting rid of my box, I will make this frame to hold it nicely and make the bag more tight on each corners. You need a velcro strap though for the boat to keep it tight while in transport, and to keep it out from sliding back and forth.

That's a great idea! Read the last sentence in my post with the pictures. In fact they're already on.

That's about what I was going to make. I was going to make mine so that the top half had bars that hold the boat by the deck so that no matter the orientation, the boat wouldn't move.
To the men and women of the US military, thank you
Now that I installed the velcro straps there is no way the boat is moving in any direction what so ever. I'll post pics when I get a chance. The GF is making a "duffle bag" that the frame will snugly fit in. Supposedly her sewing machine can embroider "Spartan" and "Molon Labe"![]()

Very nice. I may steal your design and make something similar.

Thanks and if you have any questions, let me know!
Welcome Simone! This thread is about essentially a "boat bag". I think you're interested in a trailer (trolley). Check this link out:

These were all on the first two pages. There are plenty more, you just have to look.

You did sew the bag yourself bomber? If so, where did you get the zipper?
To the men and women of the US military, thank you
Ok great. Thanks. I'll have to make myself one.

Thanks for the precious THEBOMBER indications,i wear to build my cart work.
Wow that looks great Bomber.. Would your gf mind doing one that's 100inches long?
Be careful with the Bull it might get the attention LOL! Cheers to your GF for sharing the talent. Great bag! I'm still using my old box with the styro inside my bag to keep it with the remote, I will copy your idea when time comes for my box to quit.

This is how Mine turned out. Gonna work on some type of bag next.

Mine all painted.
top view with the boat, this is how I transport the Spartan on my real boat and still fits in the back seat of my car. I used simple straps to hold it down. Boat and carrier/hauler never moved while I drove my real boat. I needed this because the larger rudder and turn fins do not fit in the box the Spartan came in.
just to show the larger rudder and turn fins. Oh yeh, and my awesome lettering hehehe
