Do-it-yourself rally light pod!

Hi,

This is a quick thread for anyone looking for a cheap and easy way to add some semi-realistic looking lights to your Traxxas Rally. My intention was to make it so you could use pre-existing parts without having to do any major modification or fabrication. So far I haven't been too successful

The LED mounting bracket is made by RPM and can be purchased here:

The LED controller I used for this build is made by Axial and can be purchased here:

However, this setup is on the pricey side and the big 5MM lights will need to be replaced with smaller 3MM bulbs. Had I paid more attention when I purchased this set, I would've probably looked for something more turn key.

As you can see, the project isn't finished yet. I plan on attempting to make a lexan cover to hide the wires and give it a more realistic look. Not sure how well it will turn out If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to post your ideas.

this is really cool looking. like it a lot. I am interested to see how it holds up to a curb, haha.

but yeah once you put that lexan to cover up the wires I think it will be real nice, thanks for sharing
