I had no problem with the TQi or the Spektrum that I am currently running but I do not run in any wet condition and only on dirt.
I have had zero issues and dont expect to have any issues.

Hmm the VXL esc is kinda big so the receiver won't even fit there. On a side not I cannot get the stock servo to work right. It keeps hitting the side if the cut out.

Well here it is, you might have seen it already as it's in a few other threads but since it is the STRC Chassis put it here too. Just need to add the battery posts and get some RPM Nerf bars. Maybe sme STRC Blue schock towers when I get some money.

Thanks! I was thinking about putting some stickers on the body but I'm afraid it will ruin it.

Just need to get my order in for some new shocks. Got tired of the PL ones and the orings never staying nice. Going to use the Losi SCTE shocks since they are metric and will fit great on the Slash 4x4. Its the last piece of the puzzle to getting my truck done.

Yeah I like my SCTE shocks they work great. I need to rebuild them and put the tiNitride shafts in, but just putting them on the truck without that has helped a lot. Much smoother off jumps and easier to tune with the threaded shock bodies.

    +1 for the losi shocks.
i am running the ten-t version but love them.
I am not going to change the shafts until the stock ones bend, which i do not see happening but we are talking about racing, lol.
I might get the aluminum bleeder caps to replace the stock plastic ones but so far no issues at all.

    Hey guys,

First post and hoping to get some good information so pre thanks to anyone who can help. I have a Slash 4x4 Ultimate with the stock High Center of Gravity Chassis. I've been looking into getting this to help with the rollovers, stability, performance. I have a couple of questions though and issues. My Slash is stock except for RPM A-arms and a couple of Lipo batteries (2 and 3 cell). My main goal with the vehicle is to bash regularly, and race my buddies who have Slashes and 1/8 Mugen buggies. Just for fun .

    1. I'm brand new into RC and tearing my Slash down to the nuts and bolts is intimidating. How hard is this coversion to do for a "newbie?"
    2. Will I need anything other than the "kit" to fully dissasemble/reassemble my Slash?
    3. Everyone talks about Losi or Proline shocks. One of the weaknesses I feel the Slash has is the suspension (mine bottoms out constantly with stock settings and I have the "Big Bores"). Ive searched the web for Losi SCTE shocks and cant find them. The prolines seem too pricey but if its a neccessity than I'll purchase them at the same time as the LCG. Alternativly, can I just change the springs/oil on the Big Bores to make them better?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to pull the trigger on the LCG as soon as I can get ahold of someone at STRC.

    1. It is not too difficult at all. I would use some containers/bowl to keep parts together so it will be easier when it comes time to re-assembly.
    2. Using the tools that came with the slash is all you need but having a few additional tools will not hurt.
    3. if you do not want to get new shocks, then new springs and thicker oil will help. As for new shocks, I personally use the Losi Ten-T shocks and they are very similar to the SCTE ones. You can find these on Ebay, if you are looking to pick up a set. But you will still need oil and springs to properly tune the truck.

If you decide to go forward and have any question, feel free to PM me with any questions.

I was new to RC's last month and ordered a STRC LCG Chassis and put it together myself. The only thing I had a bit of trouble with was getting the servo mounts right but it was the simplest problem.

Thanks for that Fr8cture. I just ordered it. What happened with the servo mounts? Any other hiccups? What shocks are you using?

I am using GTR shocks. the thing with the servo was the arm was hitting the side of the cutout for the arm but a little adjustments and got it lined up. Everything else was very simple. You might get confused with all the screws but all the screws that go in from the bottom of the middle chassis are the same size counter sunk screws.

Thats how much of a newb I am. I dont even know what a counter sunk screw is. Also, I just ordered some LOSI springs to put on the big bores (per suggestion by JANG). I'll try that with some thicker oil and go from there. How are you liking the GTR shocks?

countersunk is a screw that has a "funnel" type shape under the head of the screw and it make sit so the screw sits flat with the bottom of the chassis.

That makes sense. The ones that taper under the head of the screw. Alright I'm just going to take it slow. Also, did you have to add washers to the slipper clutch?

Is it just basically a neccessity when doing the conversion? Does the kit come with them?

No but it stops the back and forth movement that can wear the slipper or pinion out.

a wierd thing happened to me when i started to build my green backslash strc lcg now prior to this build i have put together 2 strc builds now mind you i purchased these kits pretty close together and the frist two builds were i should say Great all parts there easy builds now wecome to the green build backslash strc lcg. i know i have to be missing some parts there was no motor mount, no servo braces , no battery braces, no spacers 4 pcs , and no servo linkag. i emailed steve and customers service at strc so i have to wait for an answer pretty sure all can see the mistake ? pretty sure im not suppose to get this many braces for the i guess bulkhead, and the post. Anyone have a mishap on there kits like this? I have faith in there customer service and this issue will be resolved. here are the other two builds

Yep, looks like you have more of some and not the others.
No worries as STRC will make this right.

During the build. Where is it advised you use loctite? In the online instructions it only appears to be used a couple of times but I've heard people talk about it like it should be on every thread?

I would use on every screw coming from the bottom of the middle chassis or bulkheads.
