i was wondering out of curiousness if its possible to mod the 2.4 receiver with the 2.4 antenna.
Something like this
Traxxas Antenna: 2.4 GHZ TQ Transmitter TRA2237
if so that'll be cool.

I think it may be... but you would have to be able to solder it to some very small areas on a circuit board.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
i thought that i would but if you open the rx it looks like they made it to be diy fixed. im pretty sure you know what the inside of a 2.4Ghz looks like and how the wire is. idk ill try it and let you guys know. still if someone has done it i hope they see this post lol
Most RC'rs are not comfortable with soldering something that small.

I just did this the other night...it works but its only got about 60-75 feet of reliable range......
"Red"
"Who wants a Rod that you cant Mod?!"
Thats about the distance im getting now. =/
Interesting about the range. Try running it without an antenna installed, and see if there is any difference. I'm worried that perhaps the antenna isn't soldered on correctly.
I have some IPX connectors that I've ordered, and I was planning on soldering them to the rx board, and then connecting some 2.35-2.45ghz antennas to them. Technically it should work just fine, that's why I'm concerned you may have a faulty solder to the rx board.
Again, try running it without any antenna, and see if the range decreases - if it doesn't it's clear that the antenna wasn't soldered correctly, however if it DOES go shorter (as in 15-20 feet) than there's something more to this story.
Good luck!=)
