    ihobby expo coming near me!

i just thought of sharing this with everyone. last time i went to the hobby shop i found out that the ihobby expo which to my understanding is the largest around moved from chicago starting this year. well the location they moved to is the ix center in cleveland ohio which is only like an hour away from me. ive been there a few times for autoroma and whatnot. i have a few cards as well that saves $2 on admission dropping the price down to only $10 for adults so hopefully i know what im doing on october 13-14 this year

and dont worry guys ill take lots of pics of the over 400 booths and attractions

some of the things there from what this card says are dirt track, heli cup, rc racing, rc flying, train rides, slot cars, trains, models, and robots. should be a fun time

I live near Lima Ohio. So the drive for me wouldn't be that far.
I think it'd make a great way to and see other RC fans like us!

i like the idea of the summit because im big into scale rc's so the locking diffs and all would be sweet to me. e-revo gets so much rep but i honestly like the maxx series better. had a few t-maxx's and would love to get an e-maxx now that im into electrics. theres a few builds i want to do out of nitro rigs as well. for example i want to get a slayer pro roller, do the electric conversion and then use revo axles and arms to get a wide footprint long travel suspension. so it would be like a hybrid lol

Yeah I think so.. But then I found out that the track was for the students only...bummer I don't think thee is a single track around other than in Van Wert, but that's carpet and indoors and you can't run brushless or change the gearing of your car and have to have a body that covers your wheels..like the slash body. You basically have to run stock..
I really want a local track around my area sooo bad..
    Wasn't that in Spencerville though?

EDIT: I just checked with google and it's just a hair over a 3 hour drive for me.

no, i lived in spencerville, the track was at college in lima. and i tried getting you to go because if your with a student or teacher your allowed to be there. and to be honest even the teacher themselves told me that others wont get in trouble as long as there being good and not making a mess or anything. i recomend you go on campus one day to the front desk and find out a time that you can talk to mr. schultz. hes the main one, and hes super cool. just tell him that kenny graves told you about the track and sent you to him to get permission to run on it. and im 99.999999999% positive he will let you. schultz loved me lol, we still text eachother once in awhile to. lol

if you go in the back entrance to the college by burger king, cross the tracks and right before you get to the first building pull into that parking lot on the right, the tracks are both right there at the back of it in the corner by where the semi's go back to their practice lot. you will see the big drivers stand. its right between the oval and the sc track.

That's amazing! Thanks for the info.
I will definitely have to check it out.
Do you think if I just went to the track itself and asked someone that was there for permission could I get granted a yes?

Just out of curiosity, what did you take in collage?

i took automotive and high performance. i actually talked to schults the other night. (were were getting some call of duty in on live) i guess nobody even goes to the rc meetings anymore including the president of the club. so i say just go, i know the teachers shouldnt care.

    Sweet!! thanks a bunch !!
I will definitively have to check that out sometime soon.
And this was at UNOH in Lima and not in Spencerville?

If someone does say something, then I could just say no-one uses it anymore so why not put it to good use.

dont say that, just say that you didnt know it was not open to the public.

and yes in lima. this will take you to the front entrance but the address is 1441 north cable rd. lima ohio

    https://www.unoh.edu/files/campus-ma...Campus-Map.pdf

look for building 14, the parking lot is just above it in the pic and you will see the lane that goes back to 14a. its right in the corner at back of parking lot at this corner. buildings 1, 2, and 3 are all on cable road by front entrance.

Alright. So go to building 14 then look for lane that goes to 14A and park in that parking lot and then the tracks are close-by. Got it!! I might actually take a trip over there today just to see if I could find it.

    If I re-call correctly, doesn't the track have a Face-book page?

That's all I got, an electric VXL stampede. I took it to a ball field yesterday that's about five minutes from me and had some fun there playing in the very loose dirt/stones. I found out that those parking blocks. That they use in parking lot, can be run over by the pede and not bottom out.. I had lots of fun.

Instead of using my 2S battery, I used my brothers 3S. I liked the fact that any punch on the throttle resulted in tires spinning dirt flying and drifting on any turns. Will be going back soon for sure.

No. Haven't had the time to go with school, homework and cross country practices. I might be able to make a trip Sunday.

yeah i dont like winter either, and as much as someone is going to say, your just lying or something, im telling you right now that im dead serious when i say this.

im actually alergic to the cold! if i even get a slight chill i start to break out in hives. if i go swimming in an unheated pool i could even go into anaphalactic shock.

so to bring both replies to one............. im hoping for a 1/24 scale sct so i can stay traxxas and play inside out of the cold as well

Hey Graves: I was on that side of town today so I decided to stop by and check out that track. I went zooming it a couple of times but after 5 minutes of driving around campus i finally found it. Needless to say I like the looks of it!! It looks better from what I was imagining in the pictures. I didn't have my stampede with me so I didn't run on it. Surprisingly, it's not over run with grass and weeds, it's still all dirt. The oval track has no weeds as well. When I was there I see where you meant by parking. I might just end up parking closer to the track either in front of the semi-trailer or in the grass next to the track.
It's really cool looking, now just have to go for a spin on it sometime in the near future!!
