Changed rear diff fluid. then blown motor?

Changed rear diff fluid before running with 3000 wt. After maybe an hr and a half truck came to a halt and had a burnt smell emanating from the chassis. Pulled motor and center cylinder was cracked. Could the thinner viscosity of diff fluid cause this? What is the stock rear diff viscosity?

The stock rear diff is filled with grease. I have 50,000 in one truck and 30,000 in the other. I am almost positive that wasn't the cause of your motor going out on you. Time to get the Castle 2400! Be done with all the overheating problems!

Are you running a center diff or a slipper. Stock diff lube is 30K so I don't think the diff lube is the problem.
