    Engine upgrade time!

So I sold the 3.3 that was on my revo to a friend, and was reading about what to upgrade to, long story short, I chose the LRP XR.30 Spec 2. now which exhaust pipe, clutch, and mount will work with this pull start or the rotostart that I already have?

Dynamite 053 pipe and header work great sound great and look great.. Not sure if unlike the side mount pipes but they def make the engine breathe better. Some folks get the new era bb header and use the stock traxxas resonator pipe but it will not get all its power. Def get a big block pipe if u do get one. Trinity makes a decent pipe too.

For clutches the m2c clutch works great and the integy 3 clutches work good. I like the dynamite max life shoes tho. Ur choice from there

i had one of these pipes on my revo with a picco .26 max and it went well.. if u keep the stinger in the end it baffles it a bit and also restricts power.. take it out and its a whole other machine..

Thanks for the info on the pipe and header, now as far as the clutches go, which size flywheel would I want use? Obviously the smaller the faster the engine will rev but is there a point where it won't stay running with too small of a flywheel? I was looking at a 3 piece clutch from buku? Are thwy any good?

36mm and 34mm flywheels are the ones, starter boxes obviously need bigger ones. If you want to know what people think about the buku clutch, just search for 'buku clutch' on these forums and you should find quite many threads about the buku clutch. I don't have one, but as there are countles settings for the buku clutch and as this hobby is mostly about finding the right settings, atleast with the buku clutch you don't have to worry about the perfect setting being between the two clutch springs as the stiffnes of the buku clutch springs are adjusted with 3 grub screws.

New era bigbore mount ordered, also will be ordering the dynamite 053 pipe. Seems like a lot of ppl like it. What 1/8 scale clutch bells and tooth pitch will i need to go with the buku clutch?

With the 1/8th scale Buku clutch you will want a 1/8th scale clutch bell in the common Mod 1 pitch to match the revo spurs.
    No slipper/tall gearing/power = broken parts.

It works great for me. Also, the lrp spec 3 is actually a .28, I was reading a thread about the best .26 engines and accidently put down .26.

Alright so here is an update.

    -LRP .30 spec 2
    -New Era Big Bore mount.
    -Dynamite 053 pipe
    -Integy 3 piece aluminum clutch

Started putting the flywheel/clutch onto the engine, didn't have any good bearings for the clutch bell. now that the bearings are on, I can't seem to figure out what I am going to do about the 1/4" between the outer bearing and the end of the crank? also just want to add that the new era kit comes with terrible instructions.

You need to shim between the outer CB bearing and the end of the crank and secure the bell with a 3mm screw, or cut the excess off the end of the crank if you need the clearance between the crank and the transmission.
