Golden Horizon Motor mount problem.

Hello folks...

Installed the motor mount. Sure I had the mesh on the gears right but I now have a mashed up spur! The side closest to the rear of the chassis is much worse which makes me think the motor and pinion were no longer level.

Is this a fault with the motor mount? Think I may go back to the stock. Especially as it looked perfect. No signs of heat damage.

I think i'll go back to the stock then. No issue with poor fitting guard then either.

I have the gh mount and haven't had an issue yet.

I may have not meshed the gear properly then. But the fact debris can get under the guard has put me off. Also on mine the bolt to mount the motor plate to was shot. I had to file a cut in it to remove it and replace it. I was going to give it another go but I've convinced my self other wise. Ah well. (Thanks for replying)

Sometimes grains of sand work their way in, and when they lodge in the valleys of the spur, now you have no clearance and something has to give. I take off the cover and blow it out with compressed air frequently which helps. Better a $2.50 plastic gear than killing expensive parts!

It's getting the boot. If the mount ever fails through melting then the traxxas Ally replacement will be bought.

Kingsheadz is the motor mount of choice, from all my research. I was looking at the GH one, thanks for sharing your experience.

Yeah. it was out of stock at the time. I've put mine back to stock and all is well.

I had to take a look at my mount after reading this. Just took a pic and saw there was a hole. This sux. I can fix it but you would think they would have done a better job with thier product testing! Time to fire off an email to them...

Does the guard on the top fit? Mine had gaps and flex in it. Nothing like the snug fit of the stock one.

I must have had a unit made on Friday just before the hometime bell. Bad luck I guess. Ah well.

I emailed GH about the issue and they replied back to me.

I have got the traxxas alu upgraded one and so far all is well you can get one of flea bay
