Traxxas 6541 Power Tap Connector Versions?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has seen this version of it, with 2 wires:



The ones I've seen so far looks like this, with 1 wire:



I'm wondering if it's possible to add the second wire to this last one.

In what way do you mean add it?

It most certainly is possible to add the ground wire, just a bit tricky to solder inside the traxxas connector, and you'll need a pin for the servo connector.

I want to add the black wire for a custom application... And, I just want to know if it's possible to solder it inside the traxxas connector or ifit's factory sealed... Also, if the first version was ever released...

I dunno if that was released but I assume it was. Yes it's possible to solder to the Traxxas connectors.

Just go to a hobby store and tell them what you want to make, they'll give you the connectors you need and you can very simply make one yourself! =)

I think what he is referring to is if the connector is "rebuildable". I have noticed a change in the connector type on some of the wall wart chargers... to a type of TRX connector that is molded; therefore not rebuildable. They may have went for this type on these parts.

Having 2 wires was supposed to be awesome, imagine, powering your external BEC, lights, or whatever you wanted from that new power tap, no more custom made power taps, no more soldering... When I first saw the first picture on the PDF file, I was so excited, then, when they were released with only 1 wire, I was so sad and disappointed... Traxxas should seriously reconsider re-releasing this power tap with two wires... Btw, I bought one, I'll see if I can hack it...
