Dr.J I love the look of your GT-8 conversion man. The LED lights really set it off, It has to look clean at night going down the road. Any plans on using the GPS module in the near future? They should be shipping soon, I HOPE!! LOL

I have it up and running, and it looks pretty impressive at night, and it runs so quiet. Im used to the louder e-maxx. It has good acceleration, as much as you can get without losing grip. I like it, but Ive been looking at the ofna gtp2e and Im wanting one of those. They use the 2200/MMM setup and the are 4wd and haul it! So, I guess as a feeler, would anyone like to buy this beast or tell me a good price to ask? Its all brand new:
sv2/3800kv sct combo, (2)2s 4000mah lipos, TQi rx/tx, 4 black chrome allstar/anaconda wheels, strc: steering knuckles, axle carriers, front/rear shock towers, front bulk; XO-1 shocks, extreme racing LCG chassis, traxxas servo, titanium links and hinge pins, acer ceramic bearings, golden horizon aluminum tranny, wheelie bar w rubber/aluminum wheels w bearings, pf8gt body freshly painted w light system, aluminum front body post in a rpm wide front bumper, rpm F/R arms, steel cvds in rear, a variety of 48p and 32p spurs and pinions, not a scratch on it. This thing is ready to go! I was thinking starting around $550???

Ya know, got my first pack ran thru, geared for mid 40s, and im really liking it. Runs super smooth, fast, and quiet. Its my first 2wd, so I had to get used to how to "through it around" so to speak. I can see me going thru tires fast! Good thing they are all same offsets so I can rotate them! Ill have to get my finished project pics and vids.

love the build! pretty cool. cant wait for a vid.
how do u like the shocks?
Shocks are great, just wish the rear were a hair longer so I could go more horizontal w them. It handles really snappy/quick in the turns. Im learning how to be really aggressive w it, and the body fit w tires and shocks all work great, no rubbing or body snags anywhere. Ill post a video soon. The wheelie bar really helps on the speed straights when it approaches 50 cause it will begin to lift up front alittle.

Well, the wheelie bar helps, but past 50 it takes flight someties. I also managed to roll it a few times. I never thought that would happen! Got some road rash on the body now![]()

Its been running flawlessly, im real happy w the build. W a 4000mah 2s, I only get about 10min of speed runs though, is that normal? I get twice the time on a 4s 3000mah on my emaxx.

When I gear my VXL Slash for speed (28/86) I usually get around 10 minutes on a 2S5000mAh lipo. Seems about right. I'm also following your post on the URC board (I think I just asked a question over there).
I have a couple questions on the XO-1 shocks you used. I got some and it looks like I have to change the bottom rod ends to get them to fit inside the a-arms. The ones on the XO-1's are just a touch wider than the stock Slash shocks, so I'm assuming you changed those out? Also, what's the point of the bleeder hole on the top shock shaft? I can't keep one of them to stop leaking.
I didnt change the rod ends, I just shaved a tad inside the arm and sqeezed them in. You may have a bladder seal of the shock slightly misplaced as it was tightened. You only want them handtight. The bleeder should only bleed as its tightened down, and if the bladder is seated correctly, it shouldnt leak at all. If they were used shocks, you might need a new bladder.

No, these were brand new in the bag. I'll check the bladder (again). Maybe it's a little crooked. Thanks.
glad i didnt sale my rustler thats my next build with a lcg kit but im going with 3s set-up im looking at a tacon 3674 1700kv 4 pole motor with mod1 gears 24/38 thats around 55mph it should have good low end torque and speed. but i love that car great job

rustler 3s 3700kv 21/90
If I were you, i would consider a little bit higher kv. The 2wd traxxas is relatively light, about 5.5lbs, and if you are gonna be onroad, you could easily get away with something between 2650kv - 3300kv, especially if its a 4-pole motor, and stay cool all day long. That will give you some great top speed w plenty of torque. With the setup your talking about, the tires will slip before you reach half the torque potential. My 3800kv could do 3s no problem, as long as you keep an eye on temps. That would put mine at 80mph with my current gearing.

Hold on... You said you get only 10 minutes doing speed runs? I can run for more than an hour with my mamba monster slash. I am very hard on my truck too, constant full throttle and speed runs. I run a spc 3s 5400mah
Mamba Monster 2WD LCG Slash - Spartan
the lcg chassis your using is it longer then a normal rustler chassis because i was wondering if i could use my rustler and just add the rpm bumper and body post

Oh man that is a beaut I envy America for the range of toys for our rcs, i would have to pay extortion postage prices ( providing i find a seller willing to post to england ) then pay tax on tax its not good lol. That body cost $28 that's real cheap I just paid 35 pounds for my pl body for slash. We really need some more distributers over hear offering the same prices.
I would love that chassis and those turnbuckles but this is the first ive seen of them. ( I'm rambling with fustrations lol )
Seriously that is one sweet rc tho well done! Top marks
Thanks man, there are so many ways to change the slash up. Ive done the backslash, the monster truck slash, and this is definately the coolest looking setup ive done on it. It looks pretty sweet at dusk w the lights on. It sucks you gotta pay so much to get things over your way.

would the jato shocks make a stock slash chassis sit lower just for onroad use

i added fuel line to my stock shocks and i love the way my rustler sit my chassis sits even front and back and 1.5 inchs off the ground i think im going to do that to my stock slash next for my gt8 build
