    Slash 4X4 with Castle power

I've been working on my stock 4X4, putting on some mods. RPM arms, Big Bore shocks, Red dot springs on the front, Blue on the rear, center diff, and the sliver anti-roll on the rear only. Otherwise pretty much it has Slatons setup. Plus the Mamba Max Pro SC ESC, with a Castle 1410 motor, 54/13 gears, 30% punch. ProLine F150 Raptor SVT body. I have both the stock wheels and tires and Bowtie M3 tires on PL rims. Traxxas 7600 MHA 2S/25C LIPO for power. Still have the stock steering servo so I bumped the voltage to 6V from 5.5V.

Got the first run in this afternoon on pavement. This is a whole new beast! Pull the trigger and it just shoots off the line, handles like a dream, except once when I was making a full power run, and forgot I had the steering set in linier, no expo. The car did the tumbleweed move, landed on the tires and off we go!

I'm gonna have so much fun with this!

And one picture showing the OEM Slash 4X4 I ran for a year. Easy to track how long I've had it, the Slash was my second Traxxas truck, and I discovered and joined up here before it got dirty the first time! Notice the condition of the decals on the lower body. My backyard track is full of little pebbles, they'll blast off decals, and get into the pinion and spur gear, with less then desirable results for the spur gear, unless I put tape over the hole on the gear cover.

Yep, it's getting beat up. Made it for over a year though. 'Sides I wanted a Ford. Never painted a body before, the Bug body for the Maxx is clear becuase my wife likes it, but I think this came out OK.

I'll look at the Desert Rat. Couple more things to do on this one, get the Demerol out and open up the louvers on the rear of this one and get the number boards painted and bolted on. I'll be running on the local club tarck and my backyard track with this truck.

Been running on asphalt with a new set of stock tires getting used to the Mamba Monster Pro SCT/1410 motor combo. I've been doing dash and brake drills around a couple of cones set around 50' apart just to get used to the power. After just three charges on the LiPo pack, I've run off around half of the tread. And popped a couple of wheelies, even with the 30 setting on punch and a center diff.

No lack of power with this setup!

Got a MaxAmps hardcase 2C/120C battery held with a PL extended battery mount in and went running today. Whoopee! Serious tire eater. Didn't realise how much the Traxxas LiPo battery was choking the Castle power.

Time to try it out on the local club track.

I got the same system for my ultimate and loving it. Got the 3800kv motor with it. Was at our local track sat and ran two 7 min
runs and with the motor fan temps were no more than 130. Geared 14t pinion 54t spur.

With the 120C battery, the 1410 is running around 20 degrees hotter then with the Traxxas 25C LiPO (160 motor temp and 100 degrees in the shade). And this thing flies! Even with a 30 punch set, it'll spin tires forever on asphalt with stock tires if I nail it! Either have to modulate my trigger finger or set the punch higher. Plus the MaxAmp pack is very light, the truck is MUCH more stable, and I added camber to the rear to get the tire contact square. Now the outside edge of the tires isn't grabbing and flipping the truck on hard turns. 13/54 gears. Need another MaxAmp pack, then I'll head to the track.
