Thought i should share some of my new project. Had noting to do so i took a new Stampede i had here and started a project...i love my Stampede 4x4, and it would be cool with a little brother to it

Wheelbase will be around 220mm app 20mm longer then the Mini Revo/Slash
Width i am not sure yet...
Lid, not sure yet
Electrical will be fullsize

Dynomax 5.5 sensor
LRP SSX TC spec
Savöx servo
Shorty lipos 2s

Sounds promising. I'm curious how it looks in the end.
You can also get a Merv and put a Ford Raptor body on it

Yea i know Peter, but i already owned a MERV, i liked it, but think this setup will hold up better

Thanks Mate, just do my best .. Now i have to go thru the hobbyroom to find some carbonfibre for support the chassi..

Not sure, but maybe there will be a test run, IF i get my hands on some shorty lipos

Just need some small details now , like 12mm Hex,rear hubaxle, Lid..

I guess you are right about that it will hold up better.
I like the Proline Raptor body. It's only a little thin.

Yeah, did find a Lunchbox lid in lexan...wha ya think guys, should i paint it and use it ?

lol @ lunchbox. Give it a go with a paint job and it might look pretty cool.

How did you do the shorter chassis? Put a chainsaw on it and glued the pieces back together?

got some measurements on the Raptor, and it might fit, the length is perfekt, 10mm to narrow, got on the bed, app 45mm to the edge, and the hood, app 50mm to the edge..

was not the easiest part to do the measure, and get on the chassi, and then cut.. it is just CA together now, to see how it look. It will be reinforced with 2mm carbon fiber at the

Bottom - over and under chassi
Sides - in and outside

See if i can cut a little toppdeck for it..

Thanks mate, not sure how i will do...The Truck look awsome with the paddles/Lid, might be little to wide..

There is 2 options for me.

Easiest is to get Wheels with less offset, but i must have wheels with enough diameter otherwise they will touch the casterblock. And im not sure about 2.8 wheels..if so, i need real lowprofile rubber, so it wont get to big..

Other is to, drill new holes in the arms, and get less width app 10mm total (5mm on each side)

im off to the store later to get , screw,nuts,spareparts,paint,parma extended bodymounts, and test the Raptor lid to..ohh, and some new Tires to

I hope you can keep the COG low enough to give it a good handling. Funny to see a Lipo block instead of a brick

I try to do that Peter, regular 540 motor,LRP esc,short lipo pack, micro Rx..

I hope it will move with stock piniong and a 5.5 motor =)

Shorten a 1/10 scale body! Pave did it with his Raptor to fit it onto his rally.

Now that was a mighty good dea might, il take my oldi F-150 Raptor from the old Stampede i owned

Just use Shoo goo and drywall tape to patch it up and should be good

Great idea, should be a blast. I like my MERVs over powered squirly size but its quite time consuming to fix any little thing on it.

Yea i know, thats the good with the Stampede's build easy to fix and tune ...

Todays to do list

Sandpaper - to round off the sidewalls..
Fabricate one more pannel , must have missed one :/
Drill all holes, sunk all
Finetune battery compartmend, have to take of 1mm ot the rear mount
Make a carbon lipo strap
CA glue all edges and round off the bottom ones

Build MIP cvds
Solder ESC/Motor
Mount Ali ballbearing adapter
Mount front shaft hardned gear

Tricky part: front lid mount for chevy lid - rear is easy

My goal is to do all today, since it is raining

Have you looked at the hpi line of bodies? The smaller truck they make may be a close fit for bodies. I've seen a few cool ones. I like the lunch box lid too, its one of the trucks I had as a teen. Really cool build so far.

towerhobbies listings show the specs for each body. That makes shopping easier lol

These are for the savage xs, with a wheelbase of 225mm. they also have the gt2 truck body for this size.

Nice project, definitely traxxas should look at this, it would be a better 1/16 chassis, with 1/10 diffs that doesn't strip, easy to work on.
