That's why i was thinking ERBE because of the larger tires.

I have yet to twist a center stock drive shaft on any of my trucks, now drive shafts is another story..

I think you will be fine with either truck, but in that case^(larger tires) the Revo would be a better choice.....
pic when you get them installed on which ever truck???
Would you go flip my truck back over??

Put them in the E-Slayer. I'll grab another set for the ERBE though.

They need shorter pins tho... They dont rub on anything but they prevent the rings from sliding back over to protect from dust etc..

ehh it isn't the end of the world. at least they dont rub on anything. Just feel it was a minimal oversight on Traxxas's part. Considering they supply them with the kit.

Mine are exactly the same...with the cover plate on they'll be fine. When I inspect mine they are not dirty at all.

Installed the Steel CVD kit on the ERBE today too. I cant wait for winter to end and the streets/fields to dry up. Spent the last few nights working on getting everything cleaned up. Finished installing the Traxxas Tubes on my Summit. Just about everything is ready to go. Waiting on a couple of bodies from my painter still.

Still got a bunch of work to do to my SC8e, but that's a different story (and Forum lol)

Question or everyone who has done the rear brace mod. I did this on my 1st ERBE but have a question. I know it is the 5318 pushrod, but has anyone come across a buy it off the shelf part for the front of the mount over the shocks?

On my last one, i mounted it direct to the Tekno sway bar brace. Not running the tekno sway bar this time.

I seem to recall the nitro revo brake disc have the right spacing?? Are they durable enough?

sorry poor wording, i was talking about the piece that the front of the rear brace mounts to over the top of the shocks. On my last one the Tekno sway bars had a hole right there that was perfect. just wondering if anyone had come across a readily available part to mount there instead of custom fabbing something.

First real lunch bash and first break. Popped a Yoke pin on the rear drive shaft.
First time i have ever actually popped a drive shaft yoke on the ERBE.

If it continues to be a problem, i'll look at my options but right now considering it was the pin that came out (i probably forgot a c-clip or didnt have it installed properly) its a wicked easy fix once i get home.

Beat the truck up on the sidewalk and grass out front of work for a good 15 minutes before it let go.
At least i got a bit of enjoyment on my lunch break.

Quick question, Can you change the stub axle on the 5451R Steel CVD shafts?

Im running Tekno Carriers and hubs on my ERBE, found a new set of 5451R on the cheap. Pointless if i cant change the stub axle.

Decided to take a bit of gear out of the ERBE tonight. Dialed it back to 20/40 Mod1. Leaves me with a TTS of 53.8mph

Much better, i was running 23/38 (tts 65.17mph lol) previously.
Can run much longer now before the temps start creeping up there.
On 23/38 i was seeing the ESC fan coming on after not even 5 minutes of stop and go beating around.

Now if only the city would cut the darn grass in the field i bang around in... Plowing through 3-4" of grass and dandelions suuuuuuucks lol.

Ran about 5 charges through this weekend out at the lake. What a blast.
One of the neighbors dogs would chase the truck up and down the field through an entire battery cycle.
(i wish i had half that energy haha)

Was all fun and games till the rain came... and did it ever. Relative blue sky to total downpour in the span of about 1 minute.
Ironically at the exact same time i stripped a spur gear, which sucked because the truck was on the other end of the field getting poured on... Hoping there is no lasting damage.

And now i find out that not 1 of my LHS in the city have any stock on the 40t mod1 spur.
So i might be down a while on this

Order placed for some spares. (How i ended up with 5 36t mod1 spurs i will never know haha)

oh yeah tons of fun, Had about 15 people standing there watching me outrun the dog haha.
There are rumors they are going to build an RC track out there, im all for that rumor.

Also found out that i was rocking RWD for a while too... there was no pin holding the front center Driveshaft onto the Differential when i got home. Minor design oops for Traxxas to not include a shorter pin so that the capture sleeve/ring (the red part) can actually go OVER the pin IMO. Those pins are difficult to get cut clean if you try to shorten them.

Another weekend of fun out at the lake. Dogs and the kids from the trailer next door chasing it for hours lol.

People out there just cant believe the speed this truck can run haha.

Lots of guys looks at me and say "...ITS WORTH HOW MUCH?" when they start asking about them for their own kids.

Funny story of the weekend was the 6 year old daughter from next door watching and at one point she asked me how i make mine go faster. I just say squeeze the trigger more and more.
She goes oh cool, and runs away to her trailer.
I keep bombing around the field, couple minutes later she comes back with a Tyco (i think) Scorpion and asks me "can you make mine go faster?" lol.

Sometimes I dont realize just how much i have into a rig. If i hadn't built this to current status from the ground up and bought a new ERBE and added everything it would be worth almost $2000 lol.

The tyco runs a little 12v flat pack. weird little battery. lol. I wish i could do something to help her, she was so sad when i said i dont think i could do anything to speed it up. But the look on her face made me rekindle my thought of building a brushed Slash 2wd to have out there for the kids to play with. Obviously not going to let them take a spin with an ERBE that will do 60+ mph but im sure they would be just blown away if i said here you can drive this one, and dropped a slash in front of them.

So I head out to the Lake this weekend and I have my ERBE by itself. Wasnt planning on running anything else. Bring 2 pairs of batteries, my charger, tools, spare set of tires just in case. Didnt bring any parts. Been beating up on the truck recently giving it some durability testing if you will.

Well as luck would have it, for the 3rd time in as many runs I burnt up a spur gear. I think its time to find out why I keep burning up my spurs.

Found my problem too. Was missing one of the screws that bolts the motor to the mount.

    #facepalm

Comedy of error as a result. Pinion was able to contact the mount and sharpened the teeth against it. Which would then just shred the teeth on the spur.
