I've seen it done both ways with success, I cut the body and get it fitting the way I want it then do the cleaning and scuffing of the surface then apply several thin coats of paint.

I trim/drill the holes then paint. I have done it both ways but one wrong move with the lexan scissors and you scratch the paint.

I prefer to trim first. I haven't scuffed the inside yet. May have to try that sometime. But it's always fun to paint an rc body. Just make sure to apply thin coats...

I've never painted first... I didn't think that would work.

And I've never scuffed it either, just cleaned it very well.

Done both, it really depends on the body as which I do first.

The important thing is to locate and mark the holes for your body posts before you apply paint.
