Well finally decided to start a build for my slayer pro. Already have a few things done, like axle carriers exhaust pushrods and a few other things. Newest thing I got were traxxas tie rods and have some 12mm hub extensions on the way. Here's a pic more to come.

Nice! (sorry for the delay, I was out camping LOL) It's nice to see a Slayer build! I'll for sure be keeping updated on this! Random question, what advantage does the aluminuim ones have over the stock ones? I know there are lighter, but is that all? Thanks, and nice build so far!

they are lighter and stronger. they are actually a hollow tube. i have the traxxas aluminum push rods and just wanted to keep the same look also.

other note got my hub extensions this weekend haven't had a chance to drive it yet. was to busy working on a friends TMAXX and his 1/16th summit. hoping either tonight or tomorrow before work to take it for a spin, but have to mess with my camber some first.

yea got my tie rods installed got two more orederd for the front. i'm going to try and get some pictures up when I get a break at work.
and for the shell i'm in the process of cutting one out. I got a proline Flo Tek that i'm going to be doing up for it. and yea the one on it is the original one i got with it and that's almost coming up on years with it...

Nice! I like the progress you've made so far! I thinking about getting the aluminuim toe links and push rods for my Slayer too... But it looks like you need to clean yours a little bit....

Well finally had some free time this weekend and went out and did some running and I must say I'm very happy with the hub extensions. Even with my duratrax lock ups it just power slides. U really have to try and roll it now. Also made some progress on my flo tek just the edges need sanding now. And a paint scheme figured out. And won't finish sanding till I get my new rims. Ordered some Sc8 rims.

Nice! Is that a Pro Line Flo Tech Body? Let me see how it turns out, I've been looking at getting one! PS. Paint it sublime green with black racing stripes! Or candy apple green with yellow ghost flames!

yea it's the pro line flo tek body. yea it's prob gonna be black and green..check out my build in the 1/16th erevos, and you'll see that's a color choice i like. lol

Yea cutting them all out it's one of those jobes you know needs done but not really looking toward but know the out come will be worth it. I'm either gonna see if a friend can do a dale Jr scheme of his black and green amp scheme or keep with the black and green scheme to match my merv .but we will see. Lol

How are those tie rods and push rods holding up

they are holding up great so far. I've had the pushrods on for about a year now and no issues. haven't noticed any damage to them unlike my stock ones which some how I bent two of those. and the tie rods so far have worked great. haven't gone thro any big wrecks, only have had them on for a few tanks. But so far holding up good...

Well getting ready to pull my motor as that's where my chassis is bent. Going to try and bend it back and try coming up with some kind of brace with some round stock. Since stock chassis is 60 I figure might as well spend the extra 20 or so and get a vantage carbon fiber chassis. I know one guy that runs one on his revo 3.3 and hasn't had any issues. I'll get some pics up later.

How did your chassis bend? Do you bash your truck more than race? Cause if you do I wouldn't recommend getting a carbon fiber one, only because the aluminum will with stand more I think the CF will stress crack and break. I'm trying something out I'll send it through a private message to you.

not really sure how or when it bent. i'm going to try and bend it back and fab up some kind of brace for it. well i'm hoping to do some racing theres a group of us in my town that are trying to put up a track.

Yep, carbon fiber is either straight or broken, aluminum will bend and at least you have a chance to try to straighten, but will be weaker. The cf chassis are pretty cheap on ebay though. Thinking on switching to cf myself and have a spare backup waiting.

Talked to a guy that runs the vantage CF chassis for is Revo and hasn't had any issues at all. And CF is always broken, i witnessed a CF hood actually bend and snap right back in place. it was pretty crazy only damage was done to the clear cloat. but i'll prob pick one up after the next casino trip. found it's a good way to support this hobby. lol

Where do you find one? I looked every were for one and I couldn't find one... I'm kind of "desperate" to upgrade my Slayer, I just can't find any upgrades! I can't wait to see pictures of you new chassis!

Are you using the blue traxxas hub 17mm adapters? I was thinking of buying them to get SC8 wheels.

wolfslash.....my lhs has one that someone is trying to sell but they have it priced at like 120 which i just laughed at cause you can get them for 80-90 bucks off Vantage site....or you can find them on ebay.

Hey bomber you paint that body yet and I got no new news on my slayer except that its in a million pieces been playing with twill new trucks I got I got a 2.5 MAXX and a .25 savage. Soo far the savage its awesome and the MAXX had a new engine so I'm going back to the tuning again.....and I got a nice c10 body I'm painting up for either one of the trucks.

not yet was waiting for my rims and tires to come in to see what kind of clearance i needed for the wheels. But picking up the rims and tires today, a new intake tube and some paint so hopefully this weekend i'll start laying down some paint. yea maxx trucks are fun. theres a lot out there for them. i work on my buddys 3.3 extended maxx it's a beast of a truck and now he wasn't to get a savage flux...

Thanks guys....The rims are from the Team associate SC8 truck. to cut out the vents i picked up a high speed cutter from my lhs. It looks like a mini saw blade, it worked pretty good. If I remember tonight i'll take a picture of it.
The rims are not aluminum. just have a steel ring for the bead lock. thinking bout takeing the ring off and painting white, but I'm kinda liking the all black but prob just wait till they start getting scratched up.
Now just can't wait for the weekend to go out and break in the new body!

I'm running Integy 12mm hub extensions that are a 17mm hex, and also i have the traxxas 17mm hubs. Prob be getting the 16 or 18mm extensions at some point.

theres just more selection for 17mm hex wheels..

Yea I love the hubs! Yea already been done, def don't want to go down for losing one of them. And for vids should be having some soon. My friend who I run with is getting a go pro for his bday. Atleast that's what his wife told me. Than I'll get some good vids up with my pro and merv and his tmaxx 3.3 and mini summit.

Adapters already come with threadlock on them Even on the main threads where the rims go.
EDIT: My bad, I meant the traxxas adapters, but he's obviously using integy which I'm sure doesn't have it.
