Anyone tried Tacon 2150KV motors?
Has anyone tried the Tacon motors as a replacement for the Castle?
Just looking for some opinions.
Go to youtube and look for "Brushless car/truck motor, BEST value in the WORLD??" I would link it, but the computer I'm at right now will not allow it. It was posted by Jang of Ulitmate RC. It's not the exact motor you inquire about, but close enough. He's also done a review of a Tacon vs the Velineon motor in a Slash. A guy at the local track here uses a Tacon in his Rally and it runs great.
I wouldn't discount the 3674 1900kv. You can run and extra tooth or two on it and probably run cool with the fan and heatsink you already have. The one you are looking at is going to be a lot stronger than the one you had and may require a 150A ESC, but that is just speculation from me.
I don't actually own the Castle, but I have recently converted my nitro Revo to brushless and I managed to cook the motor.
Now I'm in 2 minds on whether to spend alot of money on the MMM combo or try out the Tacon or Hobbywing Xerun motors.
When I refer to the one you had, I'm talking about the 36mm HK motor that died. As I pm you about, the Xerun has so far been flawless in my Revo and my ebuggy. The 2200 in my Revo is overkill in my opinion....but I kinda like that about it. I may try the 1900 (since I already have it) to see if it's a better match for the truck.
Oh I see, sorry didn't notice the notifications thing here on the forum. I'm not sure if the 1900 is large enough for the Revo. You think it will suffice?
