if you dont have the materials already you might be better off going to a local chain store and buying the 19.99 launch ramp. the ones the skaters use. thats what i have. i weighed the options of buying the ramp vs material cost and the weight of a wood ramp.

I love it because you can make a tall jump, a wide jump, or a tabletop but it's pretty expensive.

^Same as me. The launch ramp is nice and light, easy to carry around, and it works well.

1.Get a piece of masonite, plywood, or plexiglass.
2.Get some pvc pipes, 1" to 1.5" works well.
3.Get two 90 degree elbows to fit whatever pipe you have.
4.Cut pipe to size of ramp width, cut two legs out of pipe about 1' to 1.5' (max height you want your ramp) It also helps to cut one side of the legs on an angle so they dig in a bit when you setup the ramp.
5.Attach elbows and legs to pipe to form a "U" shape. Make sure they fit nice and snug so you can pivot them to a point, and it will hold there.
6.Screw center piece of "U" to plywood.

Now you have an adjustable ramp that you can fold up for storage. The elbows act as pivots for the legs. When you want to go flying, fold out the legs and go. If you don't have easy access to this stuff, it probably is cheaper to just but a ramp.

They are a bit steeper than I intended. Haven't got to fully jump it yet.

Look around at yard sales too. I found the set that has two ramps and a little tabletop piece for in between them for $10

We use those skate board ramps in our videos. I also have a video on how to make some cheap rc ramps out of wood...

I like the skate ramps for a quick grab and go, but Building a ramp is pretty easy though.

Decide how tall you want it and if you want it straight or curved.
Draw it out on a piece of plywood.
Clamp 2 pieces of plywood together and cut out what you drew with a jigsaw. (so both side pieces are the same)
Screw or nail 2x2s (cut to how wide you want the ramp) between the 2 plywood parts you just cut out.
Cut a piece of thin plywood as the actual ramp surface.
Start at the bottom and screw or nail the thin plywood to the 2x2s and work your way up.
If there is a bit of extra at the top, trim it off with the jigsaw.

Don't use plywood that's too thin though... I've seen RCs blast right through the ramp surface and into the framework of the ramp at full speed. There wasn't much left of the RC after that.

ive built lots of them and sold them.i used to have bunch of pics of others that ive made but deleted off the phone and puter. its hard to find the people who like to bash and go big. i guarentee these ramps are alot easier to hit than the plastic walmart one. i made them wide 48" foot print.

My grandma has one of those at her house. When we used to be younger, we would ride bikes over them, now when I take my pede to her house, I go straight for that ramp. That ramp gets some air for being the small size it is.
