Hi all,
I'm interested to know what kind of current draw one will see with this motor on 4s:

As far as I know it is what is installed in the Revo Brushless Edition.
Thanks in advance

No, it is not. that motor weighs about the same as a 1/16. Are you taking about the brushless edition? If so, then the esc is a 120 amp constant, and i forget what the burst rating is. if you are trying to figure out what batteries you need, then Im sure 87 Gn will be posting very soon and he has an extensive list. But the 1/16 does not have this motor, the 1/10th does.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
Thanks for the reply, I meant the full size Revo, for some reason after looking at Traxxas website I have VXL on the mind.
I shall edit it now.
Basically I have a 120A continuous ESC and just want to check if it will handle this motor on 4s.
The system is in a converted 2.5 Revo
Scroll down on the page, it says the motor is 120 amp.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
I saw that, was just wondering if that is the same for both 6s and 4s
My thinking is:
R=V / I
R = 25.2 / 120
R = 0.21
So current at 16.8V:
I = V / R
I = 16.8 / 0.21
I = 80A
Not sure if one can roughly estimate it like that?
I dont think you can mix and match.
R=V/I
R=16.8/120
R=0.14
I=V/R
I=16.8/0.14
I=120A
R=V/I
R=25.2/120
R=0.21
I=V/R
I=25.2/0.21
I=120A
Any way you slice it, the MMM needs 120 amps minimum. If anything, 4s will be harder on batteries than 6s. You will be gearing higher to get better speed. Using higher voltage allows you to under gear the motor and still achieve great speeds. I used to believe that under gearing was just as bad as over gearing, but i now see it differently. Over gearing is much more dangerous than a slight under gear. You however dont want to be running 20mph on 6s. That is a case of extreme under gearing.
Its All relative to your perspective.
