That looks awesome. Now all you need is to get a roll cage, and tac some sheet metal onto it and anodize it purpe or silver. No reason to shame this with a body![]()
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
+1 To the roll cage! Like a ExoTerra kind of thing?
Maybe a custom one? hows ur tac welding skills?
If I had a tac welder I would, but doing roll cages is to tedious with an arc welder for my skills.
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
I don't think I will be doing a cage on this one, but it is an idea. My long term plans for this once I finish include a custom made display case with mirrored walls. But that will be a long ways away.
Wel,l I was getting sad seeing the HCR wall I have worked so hard on look like this
So I went on a bit of a shopping spree this last week. I think I have a medical condition, LOL
![]()
I wish I had money like you...![]()
Yup you have a condition alright!
Got a nice selection of UE arms & VBS bulks too(lower left in pic)!
Overall a great selection of parts you have there.![]()
Look out for the tree/crunch!
LiPo? Naw NITRO!!
HAHA, I was wondering if anyone would see the VBS. I just got them yesterday as well, like I said, I went on a bit of a shopping spree. Nice eye wildman. They will be used in a future build I have planned.
I'm sure that many of you would be surprised at how much money I DON'T have in this stuff. I'm sure many of you make more money than me, and have more sitting in your accounts. I got lucky and a lot of it I bought when I lived at home with my parents and didn't have any bills to worry about and was working a full time job. I piratically live on Ebay though and am always looking for a deal.
I am always looking through Ebay, I mean like every day, just never know when a killer deal is going to pop up!
Not long ago I snagged a NIB THS pipe set for $30, & I was the only bidder.
2 weeks ago I missed a great lookin UE Thunder BB chassis, could have snagged it for $30 shipped if I would have had access to a computer, but where I was you can't get a signal.![]()

Well I figured whats one week of a shopping spree if you can't back it up with another. So here is this weeks purchases.

I see the differential braces, but are those output shafts or stub axles?
Those are titanium A-arm extenders. Makes your .15 original length tmaxx/emaxx arms the same as the wider arms that came out later on.
I never saw those. Very nice!
Kershaw Designs makes some like that, but his arnt Ti, and his arnt colored
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
Wow, you hit the mother load of extenders there!![]()

Well this certainly is a beastly truck; I've seen something even remotely close to this only once before - there was this guy in the early 2000s who was part of this weekend group of guys who ran cars nearby, and he has this E-Maxx totally loaded with aluminum parts. A full tilt ride which unfortunately suffered from interference - we still used distinct AM and FM channels and someone got on his frequency - and his ride was irreparably damaged.
So cool to see a pristine truck, and good we have channel hopping 2.4 GHz and Spektrum!
Yea, I have had many of trucks wreck simply because of a lost channel in the past. Luckily it was all stock stuff, but some good damage was caused by those systems. Luckily I have not had any issue since switching to 2.4 and I will never go back now.
Well I finally got to do a little work today to the truck.
I started with these

and ended up with these
I have never seen natural colored TI extenders before, and these polished ones look insane out in the sun light. Of course the sun went behind the clouds as I got ready to take pics, so I will get some soon outside.
Some progress
![]()
I like it, those polished extenders look great on the purple arms.
Good lookin VW lid too.![]()

when are we going to get a ue build thread!? I see it back there!
Sl2sh Sl4shx2 Bandit Grave Digger MERV EMBEx2 P4de
Thanks Wildman.
SLW-SVT, the UE build will come with time. Im still not sure what all will be on it or anything, I m just messing around with parts and ideas right now. I need to finish some HCR builds first though.
That is a great build. I have been looking for a 3906 HCR purple chassis to finish my build.

Pay It Forward.
Did you have to get new shafts with those extenders?
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
Yes, you have to use shafts for the wider suspension maxx trucks. The extenders make the length of the arms the same as the newest maxx arms. Worked perfect for me because I didn't have any short shafts, but I have plenty of the UE shafts which is what I used.
Ahh, I see.

Outside Pics.
Also picked up some HCR diffs and put on the purple collars.

Man, just looking at the parts you have hanging is making me drool! You have more Maxx hopups than most hobby shops! Nice work!! I did a purple Maxx build years ago with a Hobby etc. Aluminum chassis that got me a reader's rides win in RCCar action. Your stuff is a step beyond....
Slash BL-Pede-E 4Tec-FLM EMAXX-Wraith-AX-10-SCX-10
Thanks maxxxmasher, I remember looking through those rccar action magazines when I first got into the hobby about 10 years ago and drooling over the hopped up maxx's that were always in there. I never thought one day I would have some of the same stuff I was seeing in the magazine.
I came across a few more parts this past week and I couldn't resist. Even decided to pick up some TC3 parts since I have a HCR chassis for one of those as well, so it looks like I will have to build an on-road car as well one day.

"a few more parts"
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
HAHA, maybe a couple more than a few. I was sold on them all when I saw the maltese cross skid. Those are rare, first one I have seen for sale. I know they did one with flames in it as well that I would love to get my hands on as well as one with a spider web when they built a truck for OCC and made it like the spider man bike they built. They also did a set of wheels for the WCC (Jesse James) truck that looked insane that I would like to have. Maybe one day I will be able to find the rare parts they made.
Man I sure would like to have a few HS around here with that stuff hanging on the wall!
That is a very nice score of HCR parts!
Look out for the tree/crunch!
LiPo? Naw NITRO!!
If those parts were at my LHS, theyd be marked sky high.
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
My LHS has some Integy aluminum parts as well as a nice variety of FLM parts. Other than that it is just all stock Traxxas parts.
My LHS has plenty of integy and that's the only aluminum parts they have except traxxas aluminum.
"American Muscle beats import any day of the week"
I can't find the HCR website?I want to check for some part!!
-EMB (GPS 51.6mph)
-Spartan (GPS 48.2mph)
HCR no longer produces rc parts anymore. They are still in business making UTV parts, but nothing for the rc stuff.
Sniff!!!!!!!!
-EMB (GPS 51.6mph)
-Spartan (GPS 48.2mph)
I know, it sux. Pretty much the big aluminum companies are FLM, UE, and KD, for chassis and stuff, with some other companies like ST Racing making other parts like axle carriers.
