    7s?

Just thinking out loud here. I was wondering if you guys thought 7S might work with the stock electronics. I generally only make top speed runs, with plenty of cool down time. (one of the unexpected benefits of chute packing) Obviously 7 or 8S would be a terrible idea bashing around a parking lot, but I was just wondering if any of you had any experience here.

I don't think the answer to higher speed levels with this car is a huge amount of power at this point. Even if I bought a different speed control, I would probably run it at 7S to start with.

I wouldn't attempt 7s with the stock esc.

    No I haven't, but I wouldn't. Just my opinion.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. I'm probably gonna try it soon, gotta fix a couple of other things first but I'll post back what happens. Good or bad.

The motor might take some runs on 8s but kiss the speed control goodbye

The esc can barely handle 6s, don't try 7.

Heck, give it a shot. Worse that can happen is it burns up.

Yeah, I've wore out a set of batteries on mine. What are you talking about?

Did you ever get the maxamps? In my opinion, i was more impressed with the thunder powers.

No, not yet. I did get a set of 6400 Traxxas batteries because my stock ones eventually kicked the bucket and thats what they had at the LHS. Fighting drivability issues right now again.

Well, my 7s idea is not working out so good. Got a battery but evidently the castle stuff is too smart. Shuts down when it detects that much voltage. I'm gonna look through my castle link software tomorrow and see if there is an override. So far, this is a no go.
